You hit the nail on the head.

The only part you missed was that porn is a big deal because its taboo among the protestants and christians. If they decided that mowing the lawn was taboo tommorow there children would be cutting peoples heads off with edgers next week.

This is a protestant/christian belief that the body and sex are an ugly thing. I don't think you'll find this is the popular belief in europe. The reason porn is such a big deal is because these morons make such a big deal about it. Yet its just nature when you watch two animals going at it at dinner time on the discovery channel.

This doesn't mean hiding your children from reality it means educating them about it. Unfortunatley most parents are immature and probably don't get it.

I've been using encryption for many years and I don't think it will get any easier than PGP is now. The plugins for your email client are so simple to use even a president could use it.

In order for encryption to work you will always have to do a little work such as generating a key and thinking up a passphrase. Other than installing it there really isn't much else to it.

What needs to happen is some marketing guru needs to convert the technical terms like passphrase into something morons can understand. That way people wont be so intimidated to use it.

How about the SFP (Software Protection Feature)? This feature was added to ME and 2000 (as WFP) to keep virii from overwriting important files and infecting your computer. This is just an answer to the fact that Unix users don't log in as root (if they are smart) when reading mail and virii can't overwrite system files. If it weren't for GNU (Linux) I doubt this feature would have been added at all.

Seems to me Linux is forcing Microsoft to innovate. Without competition Microsoft can just keep creating crap that has to be rebooted every 10 minutes.

What's the diff between SSH, CSH, BASH, KSH etc...

Sorry but sh, csh, bash, and ksh are programs.
SSH is a client/server based application that has nothing to do with a shell interrepter.

The big difference here is something else though. SSH is a company (unlike the shells mentioned) that has 180 employees. If SSH loses money due to confusion and these people get laid off then to me something is wrong here. This business makes most its money off this one product. I don't feel sorry for big corporations losing money this way (I.E. Micro$not) but I feel we need to protect smaller businesses. Especially when that business only has one main product.

Before someone calls me a biggot let me say I don't believe in incorporating anything. I think all businesses should have a soul and a spirit if they are going to have control of peoples lives. People need to be held accountable for their actions.
