While it's a nice idea (in theory) to avoid traveling while sick, in practice, it is a rather naive notion that doesn't take into account the practicality of doing so. One cannot "stay home" if one gets sick while already away from home.
No, but you can and must stay at a hospital. It is quite simple. You are sick, the symptons looks like a contagious disease that is spreading. A disease that in some cases can kill. Even not buying on the panic, it is worth treating. Did I mention it is contagious??
Looks it is like when you probably have a DST. So you look down, your penis is looking funny, and you can't be arsed to look for a doctor, instead you decide to put a cream on it that will hide the symptoms from the girl you are banging but can possible infect her. Please, humor me on how this is acceptable behavior.
And sorry about your story, but if I got infected because of you, just because you weren't prepared (or "couldn't") dealt with your infections disease while away from home, I would be sure to make you part with your money.
I think we need to differentiate between being able to write an Algorithm and being able to produce something like ITunes.
You really think the code for iTunes is good? I seriously doubt it. Their design is clean and beautiful as for the code we cannot know. And really it doesn't matter how pretty it is. It most work, and work well for what it has to do (security, performance, etc)
Lets be honest here what you bought is a license, you don't own the game (regardless of the distribution system).. You own a license to play it.
That's still up for debate on the courts. Problem is, you need someone with the big bucks and will to fight it to supreme. Or, in my case, someone to bribe our congressman and Judges
Yes, it's a threading issue. If you have multiple threads trying to update the value, some of them won't count. You'd either need to use a lock (and probably mark the variables as volatile) or use some kind of atomic update (like a read-modify-write operation).
Now, why the hell are you using threads on a simple program as that. Just keep an array of all possible candidates, give them an unique number id, people type this id on the screen, show them the name and face and add one to the integer, that is them flushed on disk. There is no reason to have multiple threads, nor Internet communication nor any of those things. Isolate each machine, and afterwards dump the results of it and sum. that is not difficult at all.
Who said anything about kids? What the hell are you talking about? Video games, except the educational ones, are not supposed to be teaching ANYTHING to the kids. If you, as a parent, allow your kid to play this, or even play GTA, you FAILED!
And about your hyperbole about dad's porn stash, yeah I found it, by the age 8, so what? Asked that what the heck was that, after all he TAUGHT me to ask those things to him, and just said: "This are dad's toy, and they shall be yours when you are 14.". And since he, again, TAUGHT me that that would be the truth, I waited, and it was enough.
And come on, haven't you heard about locks, keys? Unless you are raising your kid playing GTA, and teaching everything he needs to know about break into your drawer, you just lock this thing way.
If your whole argument is that, your children will find it and play. I can only conclude two things:
You are a lousy parent or your parents were lousy parents;
You believe we should live in your ideal world, and fuck the rest.
When employed by DoJ they don't care about the RIAA
Unless RIAA pays more for them, "off-record" than the government. And since, as part of the profession, most newsworthy lawyers are basically merceneries, chances were good they would go with RIAA. Looks like they weren't that corrupt, or more probably, they are saving face right now to backstab latter.
So, cheer for the record, but don't put your gloves down yet.
Or is it about insecurity? Are we just afraid of negative feedback from anti-forking people?
Probably this with a bit of attention grabbing. There are so many forks out there, so many similar programs that you need some press off the shelf. Specially when you are competing with a big project. At the same time, you don't want to risk your reputation, since at the FOSS world, it matters more who know you than how good you program.
Yeah. If the teacher can't think and decode an easy question like that, I doubt their ability to do anything. Come on, that is basic adding and fractions.
My biggest criticism of the entire suite of projects is that it completely fails to address - and in fact may exacerbate - the central problem with the Victoria Climbie case that it is supposed to solve. Specifically, she was recorded multiple times on multiple databases due to poorly trained users.
Holy crap, I hadn't heard of that case here, and looked on wikipedia for it. The only thing I can say, if she was white, none of that would have happened. That is a more sadistic and twisted version of the Missing White Syndrome.
It would be amazing. The ribbon is indeed a wonderful UI design, and if proper organized can make for a much smoother experience. If they worked a ribbon-like interface, that would be sweet.
And that fifth girlfriend it didn't describe? And the solid minority that don't want that label? The 10% or whatever that have been trying to shake that which society has tried to force on them because it suits everyone else's needs?
They are not the target of that campaign, basically because they are too small. They don't have enough buying power to be worth Dell's time. These things usually come by with a mix o marketing stupidity and consumer questions. look, think about all the Wii ads. I, for one, don't fit on those. In fact, most of my gamer friends really do fit on any of those. But a sizable part of the population do. And what was the result, the best selling console of its generation.
The point is that they are target a group of women, one that they think (or are deluded), is the majority of their buying audience. If this website do its bidding, they will have sold a lot of new computers. If it is a flop, will mean that they choose their demography wrong.
As others pointed out, the stereotype is there for a reason. Most of my casual dates were like that, not my gfs as I choose better. The problem is that society changes, gradually, and different on different places, but it do changes. The question is, did it change enough? Or are they still most of the same.
Another example, here in Brazil, if I were to make a marketing campaign to the young black audience, I would use rappers, hip-hop and spandex-clad girls in high heels, and skates. Are all of them like that? Not at all. But a sizable majority is. And if I want to make money, I will target them.
I found it after, but thanks for the link. Now let's put our science fiction minds to work and hypothize something (I'm sure the fellow slashdotters that know astronomy better than me will correct all the problems with my idea)
Since we are talking about L2, a place on space where the craft will be mainly stationary, isn't it feasible to make a "pit stop craft"? I mean, launch a craft that would stay at L2 and its only mission would be to fuel the other crafts in the region? What are the serious flaws in this plan?
Between this and the fix ongoing on Hubble, where are set for some more time of great and impressive astronomy. Thank you NASA and ESA for keeping the good work.
Any one have any idea how they will keep the helium going on it? I tried on the articles but couldn't find the longevity and repair plans.
Hmmm I liked the dissent reasoning on that one, too bad it was a dissent :/

You forgot the first tenant of politics. Save soon and leave the problem to explode on the next government.

What's your point?
Bitterness
I would add City of Heroes. Completely different focus (no equipment and originally no Purples or shinnies) and original setting.
Lets be honest here what you bought is a license, you don't own the game (regardless of the distribution system).. You own a license to play it.
That's still up for debate on the courts. Problem is, you need someone with the big bucks and will to fight it to supreme. Or, in my case, someone to bribe our congressman and Judges
down the road when you get into college and eventually a well paying job.
Like being a musician, celebrity or well-payed sportsman? Yeah, because you need a lot of study for that.

No way -- even though I'm in my 40s now, guys tell me I have great tits all the time -- and I'm a country girl! My country tits are *quite* perky.
Pics or it didn't happen
Once I heard someone say on a discussion about a game that were leaving free beta and going to payed production:
- Noone should pay for entertainment. It should be free for all.
I have never been so amused and sad when I realized he wasn't a troll.

But perhaps Microsoft expects people to play online, a console for people with no real friends.
That's one hell of a big market there. And always go for the biggest market.

I thought that was the end of Die hard 1
no no no. That would be Samantha Who?, and it got canceled too.

I don't think this is going to have any serious effect on Craigslist. They are just changing the name of the service and putting reviewers in place.
Doesn't that make them liable for what the users post?
Which makes exploring this vulnerability just a matter of taking one first step. Changing the registry.
