Agreed, it's a POS browser on a tablet. It looks tacky, doesn't work well at all. Why change to tabs on the side, but cannot slide to remove and half the time you close the tab window it removes a tab. FFF-FF-UUUU!!!

What kind of performance are you after? If you're not after anything over 40MB/S, I'd go for unRAID. I use this at home and it's brilliant. I've replaced many drives over the years, and I've had two hard drives fail with no massive consequences (data isn't striped). Plus, many many plugins are now available. SimpleFeatures (replacement gui), Plex Media Server, SQL, Email notifications with APCUPSD support etc etc.

Logic board design is far neater. Less individual components hanging off the main board, so instead they are integral. This leaves more room for battery/other components. You can compare desktops, as they are well overpriced. No difference between a nice Gigabyte/Asus board and a motherboard in a Mac Pro.

Might I add, I presume having a very complex/intricate design would make construction a lot trickier.. Compare the innards of a MacBook Pro and any other laptop manufacturer and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Lets try open an equivalent HP/Dell then eh? Build quality depends on how much you want to pay the little 3rd world country workers to assemble them. For all major companies, that isn't much!

It's not bad actually... You need a MacMini server x2 to replicate each other, and push out the managed settings. You can authenticate machines via AD/OD/OpenLDAP. You can host the home folders off any NFS/AFP server. Netboot, netrestore etc makes deploying easy.. I'm looking after 150 Macs at the moment, as well as a host of PC's, and I don't have many issues. It' s just me.

I call bullshit here. The iPhone hardware isn't as good, but have you actually tried an actual comparison between say, Android and the iOS? It's like chalk and cheese. The usability of Android for day to day tasks, and general "Smart Phone" abilities, sucks. I had it crash a few times, it refuses to connect to wireless networks sometimes, and it felt unpolished. I bought an iPhone, because it actually works really well. And the App Store trumps the stagnated piece of shit Google offers.

    Hey Nana,
Glad you had a nice weekend. Now, to get that Family Tree program installed, go to Utilities Folder. Then click on Terminal. Yes, terminal. Then please type port install MacFamilyTree. You'll then need to type in that admin username and password.

Most likely you'll probably find that it's not installed, so you'll need to search google, then install MacPorts. This might take a while, and might not be compatible with your OS.

Oh, and MacFamilyTree isn't ACTUALLY in that depository.
    Yeah, Sorry.
