That may not matter to you, but it matters to your ex-girlfriend who left you for the power-forward of her college basketball team. When a man has a huge penis, none of what you wrote matters to the women he is seeing.
The puny white man is nothing compared to the prime specimens of humanity. Blacks were bred since the slave days to be bigger, faster, stronger, and more desirable from an evolutionary standpoint.
Women don't want to hear your babbling about Leonhard Euler or atmospheric wave propagation. They want big, strong, manly men who speak slowly and in deep voices, using as few words as possible.
In the end, his genes will be passed down to the mulatto baby. Not yours, his.
He got the prize just for not being Bush It's how he was elected, and now it got him another win.
If the committee were sane, they should have waited until Obama actually ended the wars, unless the New World Order is going all 1984 on us and telling us that "War is Peace".
There may be good news. People are becoming tired of the Border Patrol's shit on the Southern U.S. border, even in ultra - conservative strongholds like...we'll get to that. Many of them are just now beginning to acknowledge that the "war on terror" is bullshit and the war on drugs will never be won, all while they are being harassed by belligerent border patrol agents. Read this, including the comments.
On a somewhat related note, Blackwater(now Xe) tried and failed to get approval to build a training center near Ocotillo. Now, they have a front group called Wind-zero which wants to try to shoehorn in a training center under cover of building a racetrack(as you can see from their page). They want to build a Disneyland for gun-nuts!
I know people who have attended the approval meetings and their HUMINT has verified that the Blackwater and Winz-zero reps were seen together looking at a map and discussing possible locations.
I don't think that's really fair to say because the two sites serve different needs. People come to Slashdot for quality science and technology discussions and to learn new things. People go to 4chan because it's like an obscene version of Slashdot's idle with some insanely wicked and clever humor. Slashdot's humor tends to be sterile if not non-existent (perhaps rightly so), which is why many people who are fond of Slashdot troll it *cough*.
All in all, I think it's turned out pretty good. I'd hate to see it fail, it would probably push every back underground into IRC and those other discussion place which shall remain nameless. Disclaimer, I have a seven-digit ID and I may or may not know shit.
I was also thinking about that, and I suppose that his lament is the mainstreaming of Slashdot. In other words, he may want your version of Slashdot
It's the same kind of dilemma rock stars face: whoring oneself out for more fame and fortune (and of course money) at the expense of credibility. Ideally, everybody would have a 4 or 5 digit id and there would be no need to acommodate the laymen and other lowest common denominators. Political discussions would stay compartmentalized and not spill into every damn discussion across the board. There would be no idle chatter (and no idle section, either) and every comment would count.
Hot on the heels of the suspicious satellite crash. The Baklava, er, Bulava missile is designed to "penetrate missile-defense systems". They're probably ramping up the program in response to the Americans' plans to put missile defense batteries in Central Europe.
The sad fact is that there will be at least one beowulf cluster post even after that post I made^W^W...uh, I mean was made by not me posting anonymously because they were too impatient to log in.
It's about sloth rather than safety. If they can figure out how to run linux, then they can figure out how to run it as unsafely as they ran Windows. Why type sudo a million times when you could just sudo -i or worse, login as root (though Ubuntu makes enabling login as root a hassle)?
Years of Windows use has got many switchers acclimated to careless, instant gratification before they just reinstall the O.S. instead of fixing it when it slows to a crawl.
Open question: What about the ethical concerns with military and law enforcement use of the drug, especially if the use is encouraged or even mandated?
Law enforcement already have a problem with 'roids. Even if the new drug doesn't directly affect moods, it could cause harmful or fatal overestimation of strength and ability.
Humor can be very effective (helping nervous speakers and captivating the audience) if it's integrated seamlessly into the speech, is not too heavy-handed, and is relevant to the topic. No pausing for knock-knock jokes or honking clown horns in the audience's faces.
For class I gave a speech on kayaking. I began the speech with, "This is my paddle. There are many others like it but this one is mine..."
Another speech was about Linux. Most of the audience (classmates) knew nothing about linux, so I mentioned the fact that Dave Chappelle gave a shoutout to Linux (well, behind Windows and Mac) in a skit ("Pop Copy") in the first episode of his show. That kind of pop-culture penetration is significant, even if it flew right over the heads of most of the audience. Here is a vid of the sketch, the Linux shoutout happens at 2:25 (and note that the timer counts backwards, not forwards).
Hyperbole fail on your part. I can now post anonymously, but I cannot write in my journal. I hope that the journal snafu is a temporary result of web development.
Yeah, emotions. Why can't we all be robots?!!!!!!!!
How can your anti-globalization sentiment outweigh the fact that Iran is a highly oppressive, human rights abusing theocracy?
Read the post again. I want what the people want. They don't want a 14-th century theocracy and they don't want a bunch of greedy American meddlers entrenching themselves into the political infrastructure, exploiting the people, and cheapening a proud culture.
As the song goes, "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss". The Iranians are trying to prevent that vicious cycle, unlike the apathetic Americans who encourage it.
That's the point. The females' accomplishments were pretty damned impressive given the entrenchment of traditional gender roles. They deserve a higher weight, or at least a more fair metric than M/F ratio.
And you seem to be anonymous. He's right, religious people are beasts. Their cries were enough to get me temporarily banned from Slashdot. The Slashdot brass have also hidden from everybody the fact that I am a paid subscriber. They have also disabled my ability to post anonymous posts and journals, even though I have excellent karma.
So yes, religious people are beasts. It's a shame they continue to run on the inertia of past human ignorance. In any sane society they'd all be rounded up and turned into Soylent Green.
I hope the protest succeeds for many reasons, one of which is to show that regime change can be beneficial and effective without overt American influence. The Iranians are tough people with long memories, and they will be as resistant to American meddling as they are to the Ayatollah.
They're one of the few countries without McDonald's' and I'd like to see them stay that way.
unlike 90% of students who are just there to jump through the necessary hoops to get the necessary qualifications so they can be mediocre workers.
The hoops mean more than the specifics of the degree itself. That's why employers usually ask for a degree or equivalent experience. People with degrees in liberal arts and foreign languages frequently become programmers.
Others have to work and/or raise kids while going to school. What did you study? Can you tell us with a straight face that you fully appreciated every class unrelated to your major that you had to take to satisfy your G.E. requirements? Alternately, if you're an engineer, would you be able to open up a differential equations text and be able to solve all of the problems without help, even though you passed the class some-odd years ago? What do you remember from your art history class?
I understand why you made that blanket assumption, but some of us choose to expend most of our energy on what matters, whether it be jobs or personal lives. Not all of us are freshman kids who need to be forced to take irrelevant classes to become "cultured".
"Surprisingly, both men and women perceived men being smarter across generations -- both sexes believe that their fathers are smarter than their mothers and their grandfathers are more intelligent than their grandmothers. And if there are children, both men and women think their sons are brighter than their daughters."
Well duh, that's what happens when people grow up in families with 14th-century gender roles. TFA:
What about the kids?
If there are children, [both] men and women think their sons are brighter than their daughters.
Same idea there, and I suppose the divide is exacerbated by pop culture. Women are frequently depicted as being able to succeed based on their appearance as well as more negative traits. Sexual promiscuity is assumed to be a synonym for "empowerment". That moves the focus from intelligence and personality to "I can be rich if I release a sex tape". Even the "wholesome" teenage role model Miley Cyrus has been reduced to pole dancing. It's a shame given the number of female pioneers of geekdom.
Barry, wish I could quit you.
But blacks have huge penises.
That may not matter to you, but it matters to your ex-girlfriend who left you for the power-forward of her college basketball team. When a man has a huge penis, none of what you wrote matters to the women he is seeing.

Bullshit. Blacks invented the potato chip, the mailbox, the gas mask, and the Jheri Curl among other things.
Racist scum.

p.s. I'm diggin' your +1 troll, man.

They should give the border patrol the Nobel Peace Prize for keeping America safe.

But those are just guesses. Any thoughts?
Hot on the heels of the suspicious satellite crash. The Baklava, er, Bulava missile is designed to "penetrate missile-defense systems". They're probably ramping up the program in response to the Americans' plans to put missile defense batteries in Central Europe.
People who have engaged in past risky behavior often know their limits much better than sheltered people know their own.
It took a little while before I realized that was satire...scary.

Yeah, because nVidia never put bad shit out the door.

Law enforcement already have a problem with 'roids. Even if the new drug doesn't directly affect moods, it could cause harmful or fatal overestimation of strength and ability.
This method is much more compact.

Not if they used something better than a webcam. The unflattering MySpace angle also didn't help things much.
