    Pros:
    • Updated versions constantly
    • Access from anywhere the tubes go.
    • Ease of sharing documents.

    Cons:
    • DoS attack at Microsoft could mean loss of revenues for companies using this service
    • I never have experienced any "outages" of Office installed on my desktop. Have you?
    • Do you really own anything but your user name for this service? How expensive is a user name going to be?

    If I were to listen to my music only on my iPod or with my small computer speakers, why would I care if it's lossy or not? I can't tell the difference with such small speakers? So why wouldn't I appreciate Amazon saving me the trouble of making my music compatible with the music players I already use?

    Some of the proprietary code that I've seen is like a beater car:
    -Held together with duct tape and bondo
    -Only works by the hand of God
    -Looking at it is an example of several works in progress from several different people

    Yes. Companies that do that have a right to be embarrassed.

    Then again, I've seen the other side of the spectrum where the proprietary code is "SOOPER" efficient and works better than any out of the box solution. Isn't that why you do things in-house to begin with?

    Flooz.com was started by former iVillage co-founder Ted Levitan, and also notably used Whoopi Goldberg in a series of TV commercials before the company collapsed, announcing their closing on August 26, 2001. Upon closing, all unused flooz credits became worthless. Over its history, flooz.com reportedly went through between $35 to $50 million in venture capital money. Someone should add "Since the flooz to dollars conversion was 1-0$, this was the day that the internet stock market plunged to its lowest level in years. It still has yet to rebound."
