"You can change the shape while you're moving and theoretically the color in about 10 minutes..."
It actually takes about 2 hours to put the fabric on according to the video.
"Hell, look at motorcycles. The passengers aren't even contained in the vehicle!"
Good point. Wait aren't motorcycle accidents usually fatal/debilitating to the riders?
Hold on here, you're blaming me for not seeing you on a vehicle that accounts for 2% of vehicles in the US and is smaller than anything else on the road by 75%? Most of the time I'm looking out for vehicles that are roughly the same size and shape, even on a good day I'm going to miss you. Don't blame me, wear a flag.
Mod this guy up. I've got an SUV, fuck you! It snows a Hell of a lot here in Michigan. I have dogs and go camping in rough terrain. Besides it gets 20 MPG, about 2 miles less than my Ford Taurus.
"Windows users are usually (or should be) scared to download the newest service pack when it first comes out."
Why is that? Been a Windows admin for 10+ years no big problems with MS patches.
I was wondering the same thing. How can they tell what's legal and not legal? Which way does it go? Do I have to prove it's legal or do they have to prove it's illegal?
I was just thinking of this very thing this morning. I've been a grocery store worker, gas station attendant, college student, backpacked in Europe, homeless, and a techie. My stories to my friends now are really our there as they didn't follow the same path. How did you keep yours up? I just got tired one day and now feel more relaxed than I ever have. Where does the energy come from?
My parents were in the same boat, so they got a plan from Sprint for something like $100/month. Works great for them, fast and they take it with them while traveling.
You do realize that companies are not sentient and can neither be ethical or non-ethical? Somewhere there is a person, your neighbor/Dad/Daughter, who is making decisions that are either ethical or non-ethical.
The point is that they made $200 while having fun. It's not like they passed up work to do it. They probably passed up other things that cost money. So if it cost me $200 to have a nice day out on the town or i came out $200 ahead at the casino, that looks like $400 profit to me. Money I didn't spend is just as good as the money I make.
I agree. I know the odds are against me, but if I can make $100 last for 4 hours that's an entertainment value. $25 an hour for a good time sounds right to me.
TV and movies are forms of entertainment, some of it bad, some of it mediocre, some of it good. Theater, symphony, radio, and writing fall into the same category. Is this a big deal because I couldn't get a new Desperate Housewives? Probably not. Is it a big deal that the Wire or other quality shows suffered? I would say yes. Is this a big deal because I couldn't get a new Rambo 10? Probably not. Is it a big deal that the next Departed isn't being made? I would say yes again. So it is a big deal and it says nothing about the state or our culture or lack there of. I'd say it is a big deal, just as it would be a big deal if your preferred entertainment were impacted.
"I read a study (or perhaps a well written rant)" Well, I read a study or perhaps it was this post, that said shops that offer unlimited free wifi do much better than those that don't. Seems like our facts are about the same.
"nearly every major motion picture company has abandoned HD-DVD for BluRay"
I don't think so: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HD_DVD
Both - Warner Brothers, New Line
HDDVD - Universal, Paramount
BluRay - Sony, 20th Century Fox, Buena Vista
Looks pretty even to me.
I am an owner of a new Toshiba HD-A3. I got it on sale for $150, and I'm happy with it. If I had paid $300, not so much. New movies in true HD are really amazing, older movies released on HDDVD, are pretty good. The upscaling for standard DVDs is hit or miss. Pearl Harbor looked and sounded great, License to Wed was almost unwatchable. The new menu features are nice and so are the extras, but it's about the fourth thing I'd mention if at all.
In determining HDDVD vs Blu Ray, price of the player was my only consideration. The content seemed about equal as did the quality. As I say the content is equal, and that is true, the ways to get that content are harder for HDDVD. I can buy of course, but to rent my only option is Netflix. Blockbuster is BluRay and our local Movie Gallery has no HD movies in either format. I did hear they will choose BluRay though.
In summary, if some one gives you a player take it. It won't kill you.
That is probably the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Now instead of knowing that you're slowing down by seeing your brake lights I'm supposed to... Well what? Maybe I can tell you're slow just by looking at you, I don't know.

I would say there was a surprise in Titanic. I didn't know the old lady was Jack's lover or that she still had the necklace until the very end.
Isn't that what the editors are for? Don't blame the submitter, blame the editor who approved the story.

Why the random shot at Judo-Christianity? I'm quite affended. Now scientology...

Really? The value to me is that I don't get as much SPAM and am now protected from the majority of attacks.
It sounds to me like he is blaming himself, or at least bad luck, and not the electronics.
