http://www.tqworld.com/ - Tranquility. After years and years, this game has something no other game offers. Well suited for the youngsters. Free, but not open source. It's been some time since I visited them, but there certainly was a time when it wasn't free. I do recall reading stories about people contacting the admins for renewals of subscriptions and getting them free when the question was asked friendly.

On the other hand, FF2 already has the "Restart session" thing. Not the same, but will do for the moment. Anyone glimpsed at similar features in FF3?

Seconded. I don't think it's extremely popular to "casual users" (last update was in 2006), but it really is a handy tool. People are already pleading.

Oh, thank goodness, I finally found where the thread is getting on topic again, thank you kind Sir. Is it considered "not done" in this day and age to put some sort of Usenet-like [off topic] in the subject line? (inquiring minds etc. ..., and no, I don't have "a lawn")

Aaaand ... I was completely of the mark. I was thinking about the Sun doing a "magnetic flip", but apparently I'm a flop: her poles will reverse in 2012. Sorry.

As far as I'm aware, you are the first one in an already very long thread mentioning the words "magnetism" and "reversal" in one post. About the PBS-article: this exhaustive webpage has more info:

In any case, during reversal the magnetic field does not go away, it only gets weaker and develops several more magnetic poles, at unpredictable locations.

A little less scary if you will.
