It might just be my area, but I get pretty consistent 300-600kB/second from most of the downloads that I do (both bittorrent and normal HTTP/FTP downloads). I don't want to sound like a Comcast whore, but my experience has been VERY good compared to the old DSL connection I used to have.
It's been shown that symmetry is an important factor in terms of our judgement of beauty (and I'm sure that there are others). Granted, there are always people who have their quirks, but in general we do tend to find certain qualities univerally attractive.
If you think about it, the majority of the public thinks "Ipod" is synonymous with "MP3 Player." Apple has done a very good job in its marketing, and the fact of the matter is that when 90% of people want a portable device that plays music, they don't even look at other MP3 players. I'd say there's at least a hint of monopoly there.
There's a much bigger difference... Space Invaders is just made up of pixels and looks nothing like real life. If you add blood, life-like models, and... all in all just make it more "lifelike", then you've got an increase in violence. If I saw a 2d guy shoot another 2d guy in the face I'd have much less of a reaction than if I saw the same thing happen with readable facial expressions, realistic blood, and realistic sounds.
Human brain cancer in mice? Are all brain cancers the same, and thus it should be "brain cancer in mice," or do mice have a similar kind of brain cancer to humans?
I would have bought a new 360, switched the cases (unless this voids any warranty... ugh), sent the broken 360 in, then switched them back and return the extra 360.
You're kind of forgetting that the game will most likely have all the characters of previous games (even though only a few are listed under "veteran fighters.") Jigglypuff isn't even in there! So that's... 25 plus the 12 new ones, equals 37 (that we know of).
What motivation would Microsoft have to do that? DirectX 10 is a gimmick now... if they gave it to XP users we'd have no reason to switch (and buy) Vista. They don't really gain anything by allowing DX10 on XP.

I've spent many-a-hour on Ngame http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N_(game) Why isn't it on the list? One of the best platformers I've ever played.
