If your house burns down and destroys all your DVDs the store you bought them from isn;t going to let you replace them all for free - how is that different to an online store only allowing a download once?
Well having your house burn down is a bit different from some company flipping a bit and saying "x user no longer 'owns' this game"
I'm all for not buying games that you don't believe in, I will not buy Modern Warfare 2 or anything from Activision because of my feelings toward them. If that means I miss out on some "AAA" titles the who cares, I'm an adult who can provide his own entertainment and doesn't need to be fed a constant stream of games that cause me to fork out my money.
Companies aren't charities, you "can't" take one of their products and pay another and claim you've come out of this neutral, you are still doing wrong and encouraging even worse DRM in the future!

You encourage the indie developer to get bigger and bigger until soon they are part of the MegaCompuGlobalNetGamingSphere Inc.
THEN you steal their games? I love encouraging small time indie devs but that's kind of selective charity there.
I don't think we need a pedal under each foot (for automatics at least). The reason we have one on go-karts is because you'll be going flat out then hit the brakes within a second of each other, I don't think I've ever needed to slam on the gas then the brake that fast in my car, and trying to drive with one foot for each pedal feels a bit dangerous.
At what point do we have to stop catering to someone who cannot grasp the levels of his actions? I can understand if he responded in a rational way but what would have been the best course of action here?
He did something bad, the offended party offers some kind of leniency, and he denies. It's not like he's a crazy person - if you're smart enough to get into some government systems I assume you're smart enough to understand you "should not" do it; and there will be consequences for the actions.
Anyone who hasn't left (or never started to use) Twitter deserves to have ads thrown in their face. For a vast majority of people anything you could say in a tweet wouldn't be missed.
A lot of scientists have this nagging feeling that there is an equation just as simple as Einstein's to describe sub-atomic particle movement, it's just that nobody has found it yet.
Is this nagging just the human need for simplicity and order though?
As much as I would like the universe both large and small to be governed by one simple equation; we are talking about *everything* at once - it might just be really complicated in this universe for no 'good' reason.

I thought he was using the phrase "on a dime" like one would use the phrase "It's on my dime". Perhaps an allusion toward building a Ubuntu box on (someone's) dime, where the point is you don't have unlimited funds for this.
Then again you could have been making a joke and completely understand this, making me look silly here!
As an xbox owner myself I have to debate the parent's claim, just how often is "ALL the time"? I can't say there has been a major DLC for a recent game that hasn't cost something in a bit now. (Unless you want to say things like gamer pictures for free are DLC)
Other than the iPhone? Just because something has a lot of games does not make it a "gaming platform".
And if it does then my Ti-89 was probably the most boring gaming platform I've owned.
I work the later half of the day (5pm to 1am) so I just shift my entire day over. I get home around 1am, and do most of my programming until around 4 or 5am, then wake up at 1pm and start the process over. I find the quiet of the night perfect for getting rid of distractions, and none of that pesky sunlight to give me glare!

What is the point of this aggression? These are video games and your argument sounds a lot like my younger brother's "arguments".
Wouldn't we eventually hurdle out of the solar system?
Please take this comment in lieu of actual Karma points, because I have none.

I find it funny you are cursing mad about not getting a profanity pack.

What an awful way for mom to figure out her machine has been hijacked and sending spam near non stop for the last month.
Why did you put a > in front of your sentence?

I don't know what you did when you had internet alone for the first time but I was clocking a bit more than one page every 10 seconds.
Because donttouchmethere.com is way more fun ;)

Seems a bit rude to insult someone over a slashdot article you insensitive clod!
Every static website should be completely dependent on Javascript, it doesn't make sense otherwise!

Speaking of copy-paste, you'd better have a VERY GOOD code editor if you want to be sure that indenting is still correct.
You can develop code outside of vim??
