It is to laugh. 'Quality Commitments' indeed!

Mozilla is a gigantic, bloated sack of poo. The Suck article had it right. If the browser worked, without the GawdAwwfull skins crap, they might produce Quality. As it stands, no one even knows what it IS, let alone what it is supposed to do, or when it is 'Quality' work.

Without a directed vision, no development team can produce anything approaching quality. The Mozilla 'team' is lacking vision. Brook's Law applies, as well: Adding more manpower to a late project makes it later.

True. If I were in a position to dictate corporate IS policy, I would certainly try to find a better, more modular solution. As it stands, and as much as we might dislike it, Outlook/Exchange is a very good corporate communications system. It is one of the only reasons I haven't switched my desktop to linux/freebsd.

hope to introduce support for proprietary systems like Exchange and Domino later.

This might be a mistake. There are many who would finally make the switch from win9x/NT on their desktop to Linux if they could have full access to the Exchange Server. I can get my mail from exchange through POP3, but I have to go to the exchange web gateway to update my calendar manually, when I get meeting requests.

Another example: Penicillin and its many progeny. How many millions of people are alive today because a simple course of antibiotic cured them of an infection. This infection may or may not have been preventable in any particular incident, but that is beside the point.
