Nobody's mentioned the Ratchet & Clank games yet? They're full of humor, especially the arena sections. "Remember kids; don't try any of this at home, go to a friend's house!"
IIRC, Microsoft itself already offers virtualization programs for free... I don't see why they wouldn't do this... If they can get it to start the VM seamlessly when you run an 'old' program, I don't think many people would care...
If there's a 30+ second delay for the virtual copy of Windows to boot up, though...
This exploit is equivalent to the MechAssault exploit on the XBox, I believe. The only way to patch it is to release a patched version of the game disc, and even then the old version will still work.
I could be wrong on this, as I don't know exactly how the Wii's OS interacts with the games, but this is my understanding of the way things work.

This happens on my laptop, as well. Oddly enough, it only happens when it's running on battery.
