Tell that to the original copy... assuming it was deconstructed (ie, killed). This concept was examined in The Prestige, by Christopher Priest... The Transported Man... Anyway, Arthur C/ Clarke's novel resides on my bookshelf, well worth a read.
Well, there was a move by the Attorney General around that time to legalise meta-data collection for storage for up to 2 years.. perhaps trying to cover their arses for what they were already doing? It didn't get very far after being shouted down.
During the NBN infrastructure procurement process, apparently the USA provided intelligence to Australia indicating Chinese owned Huawei be excluded as a supplier . Not doubt to aid both Cisco's chances of winning the bid, whilst also providing an easy in for the NSA to get it's ears pre-installed in Australia's NBN well in advance. It certainly smells dirty to me...
Actually developed countries started to naturally reduce population growth... many were worried about this phenomena leading to many economists recommending people have more kids to keep the economy growing due to population growth... there is no real benefit to continuing to grow populations indefinitely with a resource constrained planet.. It would seem to be better adapt economies to a model more suited to static population size.
Sorry for replying to myself...
Want to see what a "pro grade" DJI A2 (Formerly A2M) Controller does when GPS lock is bad?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Enjoy.
It's a DJI F550 Flamewheel... hence most like a DJI Naza Flight Controller... and I'd put money on it using a Spetrum DSM2 or DSMX control link (no telemetry, no RSSI feedback).
Errr.. How do you know its "wifi"? Can you even buy a wifi controller for a DJI Flamewheel F550 with a Naza FC? I think not.
He was probably running Spektrum trash DSMX or DSM2 stuff, which has no telemetry link and hence not really what you want to be using for anything UAV related. Of course, that doesn't stop a lot of people going out and wasting their money on that overpriced junk.
As I anonymously posted further down (forgot to log in), chances are either the Naza FC did what they are known for, and did a "fly away", or as you mentioned, the RF interference at the event was very high and either screwed with the Spek-trash control link or the GPS (~1.5GHz) got screwed up which is necessary for DJI Naza flight control (unless the pilot had enough experience to pilot the craft in manual mode - which I doubt - not really something a DJI Naza "pilot" prides himself on) or it was just another DJI Naza fly-away... of course maybe the battery ran out, a screw came loose, a prop broke, or any number of other common problems... but I'm putting my money on control link failure or GPS failure due to RF interference at the event.
While they're at it, why don't they just extend "limited" copyright protection to "unlimited", at present a whole generation can pass without having free access to their cultural heritage.
I have always been into hard science fiction, especially Arthur C. Clarke and Isaac Asimov amongst others. When I finally got around to reading Ender's Game a few years ago, I must admit to being very disappointed with this story. I always found the story more of a character development story with a plot twist that just happened to take place in space, but could have been set in any number of different ways and not necessarily in space - perhaps this is the case with most good stories where drama takes place in the development and conflict with the characters own personalities and those around them - however it's pretty much a waste of a good story to set it in space and make it difficult for audiences to identify with the enormity of the sacrifices and horror of it taking place in that setting. If I was to do the screen play for this movie I would start with the second book in the series and then flash back to the first book so that the audience could at least first realise that something terrible was done and at great cost and the juxtapose that against the desperation of the human race before-hand needing to make big sacrifices and play tricks on the very people that drew the conflict to its climax and close.
Enough rambling. I will pony up my $10 and go see the movie, albeit with not high expectations because I don't think Enders Game deserves to be in the top spot for "science fiction" in the first place.
My tip for a story that should be turned into a movie. "The Rowan" - a good read and with telekinesis its always a bit of fun for visuals and some drama in the space opera setting.
That is because rumours only spread when they are in the affirmation, not a negation, ie.. "someone said 'x' is related to 'y'" will spread word of mouth, whilst "someone said 'x' is NOT related to 'y'" will not spread.
Next thing you're gonna tell me that Employees are also Consumers and that outsourcing jobs overseas is a short term gain for a long term loss in the gyst of the "Tragedy of the Commons"
Going 20MPH below the limit should also not be a freedom.. but it is. In my (non-expert opinion) slow drivers cause more safety problems on the road than fast drivers. At least faster drivers are aware of the other drivers in front of them, whereas a slow driver is, due to certain limiting factors (eye not found on back of head), typically very unaware of what is going on behind them.. placing the onus for maneuvering around them on the countless cars that wish to travel at or near the speed limit.
Arthur C Clarke's third law: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Just sit back and wait for the Singularity.

In the financial community, this is known as insurance.
Fuck yeah! Party at my place (for the next year!)!!!!!

This is old.. it's been around for a while, already in multiple shops.. not even innovative.. so why is this on Slashdot? Paid Advertisement?
It's that kind of thinking outside the box that risk averse, blame shifting, bureaucracy loving big business can't tolerate.
Instead of using the native OSX notifications, they added their own spammer to the menu bar... complete fail.

Mod parent up +6 insightful.

This isn't new, "The idea that the human brain sees tools as an extension of the body is an old one. Now scientists have some proof that it's true." Link: http://www.livescience.com/9664-brain-sees-tools-extensions-body.html
I'd like to get my computer infected just because it's so cool... I mean, malware be damned, this is just cool. Am I alone?

Have you seen 'Star Trek - Into Darkness' yet? Yeah, it's almost exactly like the reactor in that..
... this is what happens when all the smart people stay well away.

BULL SHIT
I for one welcome Skynet as our benevolent overlord.
