Frankly I wish they'd bite the bullet and finally get the pilots out of the cockpit of commercial airliners altogether, and just use remote control from a central control centre for each airline, or better yet, each airport.
So when these systems lose radio contact with the plane, then what? The plane just flies around until communication is restored? Fuel tanks are finite in size.
No matter how automated planes become, there will always be a situation where someone needs to pull levers and push buttons.
I should add that it works best combined with an A-to-Z mapbook of the city. The London A-to-Z includes a Tube map; an NYC mapbook could include an MTA map.
It's a pretty map, but it requires an extra level of abstraction for users to properly understand. NYC natives will understand the map just fine, but visitors will find it MORE confusing.
I don't know about that - the London Underground map doesn't accurately reflect distances, yet it's one of the best known and easy to understand metro system maps in the world. This NYC map is the same, just for NYC.
What makes matters worse is that each successive generation grows up watching these movies and will never know that there used to be something better
Unless you have a collection of older films and encourage the younger generation to watch them. Obviously only works within your own family, but it's a start.
Oh, would you? And how many children would they need to study for it to be statistically significant?
Statistically insignificant is a perfectly valid result - it means the difference is less than your margin of error. In other words, neither option is superior.
All-metal mobile phone bodies go from the Nokia Eseries of about five years ago to the current iPhone 5 and HTC One. That's not counting tablets, laptops... you put in a radio-transparent window made out of a different material.
Shooting someone doesn't always mean you kill. You could shoot them in the foot for example. If it stops that person knifing an innocent in the heart, then that's a life saved. </devilsavocado>
An interesting read. Still, even though the proportion is greater, it seems the chances of being jailed if you're black are still less in the UK than in the US, though that's probably more to do with ASBOs and community service being used in lieu of jail time.
Are you arguing with me, or agreeing with me? I hope the latter :-)
Stop using a hammer to tighten a bolt then.
My experience is that anything created by .NET crawls along like a dog
Don't blame the tools, blame the monkey using them. Bad code is bad, regardless of language/runtime.

I highly doubt you need any more precision than that.
I'm reminded of something about 640k being enough...
Just like Cobol, the definition of a terrible language?
To be fair, COBOL didn't have much competition in the early days (pretty much just FORTRAN and ALGOL).
Have fun maintaining a million-line program in NotePad (or similar).
Because USB mains adaptors don't exist, right?
Well yes, that's a given. WRT autism though, neither option is superior (as it were).
That works too :-)

Use it in a well ventilated area or add a few household filters to the room.
And/or use one of those face masks you can get from the hardware store.
fuck off bitch
Where should he 'fuck off', o Lord?
Most of that has already been solved via voice commands
Typical use of voice commands:
Driver: 'Radio 2'
Car: 'Calling home'
Driver: 'Cancel'
Car: 'Radio 1'
Driver: 'Fuck this' *turns off voice commands and presses buttons*

Or make the case itself the aerial (if possible).
Our moon doesn't even have a name.
Yes it does - it's called 'The Moon'! :)
True, never handled a firearm. No reason to be rude though.
Don't doubt it for a second ;)
Two rules to live by for sure :) I was just trying to come up with a situation that demonstrated my point.
You've read too much into what I said. I was merely giving an example.
