A similar scroll pad exists on the synaptics touchpad that comes on compaq's presario R3000 laptops - but just does the up/down movements. It works nice but I still prefer the wheel on standard mice cause it provides better control over speed.
Now that DirecTV has finally put an end to all the hacked cards, for the time being:), does anyone know what's going on with its rival Dish Network/Echostar?
I've heard that Dish Network has always been harder to hack. But haven't heard any recent updates on its status.

I have been experiencing this myself... I'm thinking its only due to extremely heavy traffic. But it usually works after a minute or two.
But this is in no way close to what happened this morning with M$'s site. hotmail - which is the only M$ site I access daily was down for at least 1 hour... I just gave up afterwards...
yahoo mail rocks! I've been changing over to using yahoo mail... cause you'll never know what M$ have up their sleeves... hotmail may not be around for free for long - they'll probably make it so its only free to those users using IE/Windows. Oh well... i'm hoping that M$ sees many more crashes soon.

I've go the Onkyo 787 for a few months now.. retails for about 1200 bucks but you can find one from off the net for around 700-800.
Its an excellent receiver in comparison with others in its price range. Its got everything... component video, tos optical, rca optical, the new rear center output channel, THX certified. There are so many features on this thing that I had yet to go through all of them.
One piece of advice, go with monster cables, they are worth the little extra price you pay for em.

Tcl/TK builds relatively nice GUIs. Like Java, it is multi-platform and has lots of documentation.
