Ahh, true that. I've never had a piece that didn't fit! Or a piece missing from a set either for that matter... I can't say the same for some furniture I've bought (and that cost a whole lot more than a lego set).
But this still doesn't answer the "Why is Lego so expensive?" question that I've always had ever since I was a kid. The materials can't cost that much (Obviously petroleum byproducts cost more now than they did 15 years ago, but still...). Also, those looked like injection molds - which AFAIK are one of the cheapest ways to manufacture something. Don't get me wrong - I love, love, love lego. I was just always sad as a kid that I didn't have money to buy more.

I'd say that Ledger's complete redefinition of who the Joker is and what he's about represents some pretty amazing acting. At no point in time was his character anything other than an amazing combination of completely insane and coldly calculating. He was good enough that despite all the hype I never found myself even thinking about the fact that he was acting. I was completely engrossed in the character. (Bale's "Batman Voice" on the other hand... was really distracting.)

Well, to be fair... that whole list is ridiculous. LOTR? How can you even compare a movie like that to Shawshank Redemption or Schindler's List? Dark Knight's ratings are just inflated right now because it just came out and there's a ton of hype. I agree that it's amazing, but it's not "best movie of all time" amazing.
Exactly. That's what the Joker's entire speech was about while he was fighting Batman at the end. I thought the changes to Dent were plausible. Between Rachel, his friends' betrayal, the obvious pain he was in and his desire for revenge... I could see how it'd take just a little bit of encouragement to set him off.
Am I the only one that wasn't confused? The movie made perfect sense to me from start to finish. Maybe some people were too busy drooling over a guy in a rubber suit to pay attention to the plot:P
Wow, I thought it was really easy to follow - and I'm not even a *huge* batman fan (never read the comics, watched the animated series a little, seen all the movies). I was never lost during the movie... far from it. As soon as I saw Dent flip the coin I immediately thought of two face so it wasn't surprising when he eventually *became* two face. What was hard to follow?
I also thought that the fights scenes were very well done. Much better than say, a Michael Bay flick where everything is cut so short that it's impossible to actually see any of the fight. PS - Batman vs Joker in the interrogation room was awesome!
I agree about the actor switching... I understand that you can't make actors come back for a part but it ruins the continuity of the series. As for Rachel... I actually enjoyed that part because of how the other characters changed in response to it. Also, there's the whole "finally, the bad guys did something right" thing. I get so tired of the cliche "you must choose between your two friends." "I choose BOTH - oh look I saved them both I m amazing! yay!" In this case he *did* choose, he was just deceived.
Yeah! Just think! When there's a launch accident it won't be long before everyone for thousands of miles dies... err, ahem, knows about it. If we start doing that, you may want to think twice about that vacation home near Cape Canaveral!
Screen size has nothing to do with how much Video RAM you want. You're storing textures in that memory. The more memory you've got the more textures you can store and the higher resolution they can be. Being able to max out the texture detail in a game makes a huge difference in appearance.
Also, you'd be surprised what a difference just a graphics card upgrade can make in frame rates. Maximum PC ran an article a while back where they upgraded some old machines... if I remember correctly one of them got something like a 70% FPS improvement from a new card.
Wii is fun but its graphics are less than impressive. The only wii games I play are console-exclusive titles like Zelda. For any other game I just get tired of the graphics looking subpar. When you get used to playing games like Crysis and BioShock the Wii just looks silly.
I can almost never post as AC. If I check the AC box I've got about a 5% chance of actually being able to post. Usually I can preview and then it will never let me submit.
I've also run into problems just posting regular posts. The timer thing on the submit button *can* be helpful, but usually there isn't even one of those and I just have to sit here and wonder if I'll ever be allowed to post my comment.
Did you try holding down "Ctrl" while you reloaded? That way you know you're getting the latest version of the page instead of just checking against the cache.
...Gina from sales is about to let her 2 year old that just ate spaghetti play on her brand new work laptop!? Someone get down there and save that machine! Schnell!
Sometimes half of the fun is guessing how they managed to do the damage to the machine.
It's true that there are countless people that think they know what they're doing, but don't... but those same people will just end up googling for some answer that involves a reg hack or clicking through all of the necessary boxes anyway. I don't think that burying options is the solution. I agree that it could be misused with poor results... but it'd be so nice for power users! Perhaps you could just bury the "expert" checkbox as a compromise?
Yeah, that garbage has got to stop. On the one hand I can understand that manufacturer's are desperate to differentiate their product from the competition in any way they can... but Microsoft really needs to avoid encouraging any further customer confusion before we end up with "Vista Certified" cases and fans.
Snitch mode would be fantastic. In a similar vein, I desperately want a single checkbox I can tick that puts the entire OS in "expert" mode. Vista is terrible about this but even XP is obnoxious - I don't want a hundred wizards, and I don't want a little popup dialog and I really don't want to drill down through 50 menus clicking "advanced" 5 times. I just want those options upfront to begin with. I know what I'm doing, just let me change the setting.
The lack of this feature becomes even more infuriating when, with every OS update and service pack, they seem to add another layer of "user friendly garbage" between me and my advanced options.
Don't get me wrong, I "get" that my little sister needs to be protected from herself so that she doesn't make her computer unusable... but I don't. So stop trying.
It's amazing how many people don't know about SuperFetch I saw "program caching" on his list and was immediately disenchanted. How can you call yourself an expert and then go about compiling this list when you don't even know that one of the features that "must be in Windows 7" is already in Vista?
Windows Server and Desktop *are* very different. The last two server apps have been Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. The naming isn't even the same. I'd be surprised if a new version of Windows Server came out at the same time as Windows 7.
The ability to maximize a window across both monitors, the ability to specify which monitor a program starts on, the ability to specify which monitor new apps / dialog boxes pop-up on. All of these are built into nVidia's drivers and I love them. Unfortunately, the drivers were buggy and some apps would cause them to crash so I finally scrapped them... but I miss having those options. There are other nifty features as well but those were the first three to come to mind.
How is Craigslist being full of scammers any worse than eBay? I stopped using ebay ages ago in exchange for craigslist. It's much better to inspect the stuff in person before you buy it... You can't do that with eBay. You're more likely to get screwed on eBay than you are on Craigslist.
eBay is ridiculous now anyway. Everything is "buy it now" and part of some store. It's not even an auction site anymore. It's just a giant discount retailer. eBay was fun when you were buying stuff from other people and there was a real auction - you actually got some decent deals. Now you might as well just buy your stuff elsewhere for the same price without the hassle.

I second that. I hate Quicktime, I refuse to install it and I was disappointed to see that the video was a .mov. Guess I won't be watching it.
Cats are only good for ONE THING.
Pff. I wish.
