I'm not the greatest artist or anything. But I've been using the gimp 1.1 tree for a while now. And it really works great for me. It helps to turn the monstrosities that I create into something somewhat decent.
Sure the Gimp doesn't have all the features (yet) that commercial apps like Photoshop have. Yet it still is able to do a lot, and I'm sure it'll improve with time. I can't wait to see the devel tree for 2.0.
I don't see how associating linux with a console will confuse people when they see it on a desktop. I mean it's linux. It runs on many platforms. Linux can be used as a server, a workstation, and even a desktop. I use it as my primary desktop. So what's the problem with having it used as a part of a console system?
Hi, I'm using FreeBSD 3.4 -stable and have never quite understood whether or not XF 4.0 supports 3d acelleration on non linux systems. I've got a Voodoo 3 and was just curious as to the matter. Mike
I saw Heroies of Might and Magic III at Frys Electronics here in Phoenix, Arizona, along with Civ, Myth2, quake3, heretic 2, RT 2, and a few other things. It was in their linux section which had a few linux distros, including the copy of Debian Slink I bought last night:) They also had some stuffed penguins.... Mike
Seeing as the vehicle took over and put the driver in potential danger, it would more than likely call itself KARR. :)
Sounds a lot like Roland Deschains' world in The Dark Tower series by Steven King.
Perhaps FreeBSD isn't meant for the average user. I wouldn't have my parents or my girlfriend using it. Windows works fine for them. Cheers

Hopefully things will work out and we can see this baby in action.
Cheers,

True. I do admit I screwed that up a bit. Oh well. Life goes on. :)
Do you really want him to stick to a release date, and then end up releasing an extremely buggy non-fully functional kernel?

I've seen a boxed version of FreeBSD at the local Fry's Electronics. Mike
