Err you "played" it but quit before the first level!?.. Well I played Daikatana to completion, also Doom 3, and both were fun games. I found Daikatana to be a much stronger design hampered by technical issues, while Doom 3 lacked such a strong design but had a very smooth base. Both games I completed over the course of a couple days of constant playing, perhaps FPS isn't your cup of tea?

Yes because gameplay is a reflection on the game's underlying code. Judging by your comment it's unlikely you would be able to, or even have had the desire to, read the code in the first place.

Wouldn't the increase in price result in a decrease in demand? Resulting in the government requiring a greater percent of revenue to offset the drop in fuel consumption? Roads don't just degrade from usage you know, and because first world countries were stupid enough to plan and build for personal vehicles rather than mass transport we all require excess costs to compensate those drivers.

I'm 28 and have never driven in my life, the cost doesn't appeal to me and Australia has a semi-decent public transport system to get by on. Failing that I've got tree trunks for legs to cycle/run at *most* other times, I ran a short 4k last week during the heat wave and found it a little uncomfortable!

While I have no problem with programming I am at the mercy of an artist for my games. So the last couple months I've been practising drawing with Vectors (I've actually found InkScape to be easier than Illustrator) so that I no longer have to find a willing graphics artist for my games. I've been drawing the assets for my next project as I figured that's the best way to learn, never have to stop and think of what to practice drawing next as I have the list in front of me.

It also means if I end up with sub-par results at least I've improved my art skills and have a strong list of assets for the artist! Plus it's another step that forces me to consider each asset before throwing it in there as not only do I need to design and code but now I need to spend the time drawing it, the end result being a cheaper contract rate from fewer art assets.

Meh I've felt for the last year that MS and Windows are on the way out. Windows 8 was there attempt to get people used to Metro and attempt some relevance in the touch space. The desktop is dead and MS know that, the new market is in the touch devices and using task-based UIs over file-based ones. My house mate is anxiously awaiting his new Nokia phone, and believes MS can manage to capture 30% so we have a good conversation about their new actions most days.

With Android expecting to hit 90% market share next year I believe their only chance is to get on the augmented reality bandwagon and hope Apple don't have something in development yet. With rumours that the next Xbox will have an AR addon it's quite possible they are doing this.
