I know it's so 19th century, but there are things called checks, and an organization called the Post Office will deliver them all the way across town for 42 cents.
When I was a kid the cops came in and fingerprinted every student in our elementary school (Stamford, CT). I think the rationale was corpse identification, since about the same time parents had to submit a form saying whether they wanted their child to stay at school or run for home in the event of an impending Russian attack.
Fun interacting with different life forms? Male and female humans can rarely interact successfully (or at least satisfactorily).

That's what the deal was with the Honda Accord hybrid - more power and acceleration than the normal Accord V6, and better mileage. No appeal whatsoever to the smug hybrid types, and the people who liked it complained that it didn't have a sun roof, and bought regular V6 models. Oh well.
Ah, giant rotary switches, the smell of ozone and phenolic..... And if the machine's in your bedroom and you have the keys, you can always reach inside and feed another five balls, or open the back and give one of the switches a spin. Take the glass off, and you can start learning about feedback loops and oscillators. Guess I'm old people - thanks to Dosbox, I can still play Tristan!
Market-driven!! It's the ultimate optimization, why wasn't Enron in on the shuttle biz? And just think of all the media opportunities, this could be even more career-enhancing than sitting in a lawn chair reporting in real time on the DC snipers. Nah, I'm not cynical. But how do you maintain a human-based space program with no vehicles?
My daughter, then 13, was a big fan of the purple gorilla, and had so many damn toolbars there was hardly any room for content in the browser. And let's not forget Gator!! "Dad, just click 'Allow' - that's what I do, it's quicker."
It could get really touchy if they're serving targeted ads. It's one thing if I type my company's name into a Google search and get served competitors' ads, but if an existing or potential customer tries to visit my site, mustypes, and ends up with an ad for the competition, I'd go ballistic. It would seem a pretty open and shut violation of my brand name and good reputation.
Yeah, me too!! I'm wicked all over win.ini, way easier than editing the DOS environment. The only thing I don't like is that it's all in one place and doesn't have a cryptic name.
Could be worse, a standards body coould be working on it! I remember years of trade rag articles aboout how ISDN was coming. Anybody old enough to remember the S-100 bus? Seems to me that became an IEEE standard several years after it faded into legacy.
Which, by extension, would mean taxes on streaming media as well? Would one have to pay tax on some supposed retail value of a transient performance or presentation?
I grew up in NJ, where the hell is Wyoming County?

Good luck with the UL flaming oil test!

If you want to use per cent, you need to move the decimal point a couple orders of magnitude to the right.
Shh, nobody's supposed to know about the Roomba Death Star

Knew right where to look, eh?
Grandstanding and posturing worked for Spitzer - Cuomo's obviously running for governor.
Or anyone over 30 of average means. I'm no more represented than when I was a whining under-30.
Good point about the mechanical stuff - does relay ladder logic count as code? Or the wire jumper panels in the old IBM sorting machines?
Yeah, we deadbeat dads are happy to see the new emphasis on hate crimes.
Sounds like I'd have an equal chance of receiving no reply or 10 different replies. Why not use some sort of CRM instead of just webmail?
NASA obviously needs a Czar, and a War on Space

Finntastic!! (mod painfully obvious -5)

Ah Boston, the only place I've had cars blowing their horns at me because I declined to take a left on red.
