    I'm sure "Jedi Mind's" products are really neat, but if so, they can survive on their own merits, with their own original name, rather than piggybacking on Lucas' creation. Trademarks are not patents, and you don't break Wheaton's Law by having and defending them.

    No, by all accounts use the browser, but it would still be more desirable for it to be FOSS since at a later stage it can be forked if the project stagnates. It may be a minor issue to many, but it is still an issue.

    Google never claimed they were using the Java platform, merely the same java language. This is (primarly) a software patent lawsuit. I don't see how you can compare it to GPL enforcement in that google did a clean room implementation of Dalvik.

    From the Article it seems this discovery is further evidence towards the current standing model, the standing model being the collapse of molecular clouds into a covered protostellar object. The lack of previous observations does not necessarily mean that ejection of mass was not predicted for a protostellar object of this age but that it is so short lived as to be difficult to observe.

    They appear to claim there is no nuclear reaction inside stars, yet stellar models successfully model stars when this is taken as the mechanism of energy release to counter-balance gravitational contraction, which is the mechanism of light emission from stars.

    The burden of proof should be on the corporation who accuses you and be done in a court of law. You should not be cut off the internet without proof by your ISP.

    Alot of images are provided from different telescopes with the tools used being open source: MIDAS, IRAF etc in conjunction with free access sites like SIMBAD with programs like Stellarium with the Virgo Plugin being useful for amateurs too. All the tools are freely available to do your own data processing and/or contribute to the area

    A possibility is to run linux on your laptop and keep your games machine dedicated to games (I'm presuming here that your games machine is a desktop and not just your laptop)

    same thing happened with me, the less tech savy in my family that used linux (ubuntu in this case) after I installed it had no problems, while those who counted themselves who knew windows better (simple enough things like using the control panel) were quick to change back after being taken out of their comfort zone.

    I don't see how the statistics are relevant at all since low memory users are not, generally, going to be the game playing crowd. Gamers are typically high end people, for example, I would wager if you look at the desktop vs laptop statistics it's also skewed massively in favour of desktops

    I never understood why people won't devote any time to learning how to use a computer properly when they spend weeks (and potentially lots of money) learning how to drive properly.
