Bravo, bravo! Although greatly off-topic and repulsive, I admired one who writes as vividly as you! The use of delightful (although quite disgusting), picturesque descriptions coupled with the writing stamina to keep the reader entertained, made for a fine story, indeed. So while everyone hates on you (and now me), I see the beauty behind it all, which is typical of me. Write on, you fetid writer, you.

  2. What is Art? on Nanomicroscopic Image Or Modern Art? · · Score: 1

No one truly has the right to dub art as, well, art. If I had the right to define art, it would probably go something like this: Art is everything that has existed, currently exists and will continue to exist. Art is both life and death, materialization and the possibility of becoming - as well as the impossibility of ever having been. I agree with those who said blobs on a canvas is not art, at least not how "they" see it.

So I gather you disagree, from your semi-intelligible response? Did we (collective humanity) or did we not create the computer you are reading this on? Did we not bring about the technological advances that are stated in the very article you are replying (hardly) to? If so, then are we not the ultimate computer? Equipped w/ the highest resolution video, audio, CPU/logic, etc?

While I agree that Mr. Huang's statement was a little overboard, and definitely unprofessional, I, my good sir, think you are uptight. Furthermore, if you had actually RTFA (I know, you are probably unfamiliar w/ the term), you would have realized that he never directly mentions Intel in his statement. Feast your eyes on the glory of an article snippet: Huang summed up Nvidia's position on Larrabee in one sentence: "We're gonna open a can of whoop-ass [on Intel]." Now, notice the [on Intel]. Thank you.

I think it's silly to make such a generalized statement. I've been to Ponta Grossa, Curitiba, Foz do Iguacu among others, and people DO stop for red lights. If anything, Sao Paulo is where I witnessed the most blatantly abused traffic system - motorcycles weaving in and out of traffic, people running reds, etc. However, the purpose of the post was to convey my proponent feelings of adding LED counters to traffic lights, instead of moronic traffic cameras.

  9. Ridiculous. on Cities Tampering With Traffic Lights To Generate Revenue · · Score: 1

When I was in Brazil (Sao Paulo) during May - July 2005, I noticed a very efficient traffic light system in most parts. The traffic lights had LED signs next to them with a number countdown. For example, if you're driving and you see a 3 displayed, you have 3 seconds until the light turns yellow and yields an additional second or two. Using this system, a driver knows better than to keep going if the number is 3.

I've been using an IBM ThinkPad R51 for over 2 years now, with a 7,200 RPM drive and it runs extremely cool. This is, by far, the best, most stable laptop I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I will definitely consider getting a Lenovo when I do upgrade, as long as they make the same excellent products that IBM made when they produced laptops.

3/10 of a mile!? Give me a break, it's called RONJA (http://ronja.twibright.com). That's the problem with society these days - no inspiration, no creativity - reach out and THINK. Remember when you were in elementary school, all the talk about critical thinking? Maybe if you had been paying attention rather than stare at Susie Rottencrotch, you would've strayed away from the herd-like thinking. Seriously though, in this case, there were alternatives to paying $450/month for a slow fractional T-1.
