How is it considered entrapment? Isn't entrapment when a police officer facilitates and encourages a citizen to commit a crime and then arrests them for it? Here, the crime is committed (drinking and driving) before the officer ever meets the [alleged] criminal. Doesn't seem like entrapment.

I don't like censorship. I also don't like tools that help people get away with drinking and driving. And I'm hard pressed to think of any use other than getting away with drinking and driving.

Canada is doing just fine with universal health care. It's not perfect, but per capita, the number of people not receiving health care is many times fewer than in the US. And before you go all American propaganda on how we are communists who have to eat our own shoes to survive, know that I am Canadian, and a of mine family member has a serious health condition and she is receiving stellar health care (for example, an MRI/week). Per capita, we pay less for that level of care, too (taxes vs insurance rates). Pay no attention to Fox News.

Some Indian schools are more competitive than American schools, but you are trying to say that they just hand out As because it's culturally unacceptable in every non-US country to fail a student. WHAT?! Where do you come up with this stuff?

The simple fact is, inferior societal practices are just that, especially when people are not willing to discuss and address.

You would do well to start with the inferior practices of American culture. That's what these forums are about, right, according to you? Turning a critical eye on oneself? And you would have a valid point, if that's what you were doing. But you're not. You're turning a critical eye to every non-US culture and not to your own, which in and of itself demonstrates the very characteristics you criticize in others: namely, xenophobia and a superiority complex. As Marshall would say: "Lawyered."

"Frequently xenophobic," the need to "openly admit they are not the superior beings of the world." Don't get me started on "inferior societal practices," that is wrong on so many levels.

Even within the top tier of those who do get service, the insurance companies make cost/benefit decisions. Then try out:
Algodoo (costs about 25 euros): Great physics simulator. I would say it would be useful even for university students. You can, however, adjust the difficulty level. It's good for kinematics, some optics, buoyancy, some fluid dynamics and a few other things. I started off with making a piston pump system.
    http://www.algodoo.com/wiki/Home

Crayon physics: Great for intuitively exploring some physics concepts. It costs about 20 bucks. It's similar to above but it's closer to a game. There are a series of challenges that you accomplish (try to move a ball to a star, overcoming a series of obstacles. Learn some physics concepts through osmosis.

Celestia: Great freeware for exploring our galaxy (and neighboring galaxies). It implements astronomy knowledge into a space simulator. It allows to you to visit out solar system and beyond. As humanity discovers more, you can update the planet (i.e. with new exoplanets). This one is super cool, a little like Eve Online but IRL. You can also install Star Trek universe updates if you are a trekkie, as well as Star Wars.

I must admit that I am deeply suspicious of anyone with a southern drawl, in a kind of you're-a-kool-aid-drinker-until-proven-otherwise sort of way. It's mostly subconscious.

It would not be accurate to only blame the US government for wrong-doings. Americans continue to vote for torture, illegal wars, rampant imperialism, censorship, overthrowing democratically elected leaders while supporting dictators etc. and that's only counting relatively recent wrongdoings (thereby ignoring the dessimation of First Nations as well as slavery). Plus, you're having a horrible time keeping your extremist groups in check. And the current state of anti-Muslim rhetoric in American politics is downright scary. Yes, there is a minority of Americans who do not want any of these things, but they are that: a minority! If they were a majority, then leaders couldn't get away with these shenanigans. And if you count yourself in the minority, I must ask: what are you doing to stop it?

Even if you consider youself in that minority, doing nothing is the same as assenting. With the exception of the people who are actively trying to improve the country, I would say that overall the global anti-American sentiment existing today has been well earned and is rightfully shared among the population and government alike.

As far as other Canadians, I think their sentiments are generally similar. While some exhibit anti-Americanism simply because everyone does, many feel the way I do. That is, that the US at large has earned this negative reputation. If you don't like it, work to change your image.

I'm a little confused about that. My understanding was that light is bad for the yeast. So in homebrewing operations you want to keep the brew in a dark area. Even after you bottle a homebrew, because the yeast is still working on carbonating the now sealed bottles. However, in most commercial operations the yeast is killed off before bottling and the bottles are pressurized with CO2 tanks. I'm wondering how come sunlight would be detrimental at that point.

If the alternative to the biodegradable bottle is to continually ship glass bottles across the continent and back, then yea, the answer is obvious.
