    What good is that? :P

  2. Re:Get someone else on Web Graphic Design for Small Businesses · · Score: 1

Hey! Be careful of what you say! I'm currently finishing a program that does programming (.NET, Oracle, SQL, Java, etc) and it has an 80% drop rate and I'm still there. I'm almost done, going to graduate after this semester. I was doing graphics before, working corportate. I was told that my mind is just more flexible than others... and, of course, I'm going for more design training after this.

Although, I do love thedailywtf feed. It's fantastic! I'm sure there's a few times where a lot of people here at one time or another has done something to be up on that.

  3. Priorties on Student Expelled For Facebook Photo Description · · Score: 1

They'll expel someone for something like this but for harassement on a Facebook page that has the picture of the school, saying they are students of the school and they harass another student (in a gross way, by the way)and were expressing their opinion over an instructor (which is fine), but they were lying about what he has done, they get to do "refective essays". What gives? These students also deleted what they have done, but the person that got attacked made screenshots of what they have done, to show what has happened. Are these kids that stupid to say stuff like that, saying they are a student of the school, having their group with a picture of said school and their names next to postings of such? I think their priorties are out of place, that school and mine. Of the story, though, I know, different school and obviously of the context that the other ad there really didn't make them happy, but it was in a different context obviously, which I find them to be expelling the student over it really ridiculous. Also, they're spending time on stuff like this where they can actually make a big difference in a student's life and do something more instead of making more students angry as it is.

  4. The Question Is... on Old Software or Open Source? · · Score: 1

What are you using the software for? Is it to teach graphic fundamentals or just WYSIWYG sort of stuff? I remember going through high school and all we were doing was just learning how to use the software not much on actually learning how to design. If it's graphic fundamentals open source would work just fine. GIMP will be able to deal with just learning the fundamentals... so would a piece of paper.

Thank you for posting this. Made midterm week a hell of a lot better, but really, I should be studying my vb.net... ^^' Yay for distractions! ^^ Oh, and if I fail... expect a really nice email from me. ;) I'm going to be a crazy!

  6. Is Online Access Really Necessary? on Adobe Intends To Move All of Its Applications Online · · Score: 1

As someone who works in the graphics industry, I have found dealing with Adobe in the box reliable. Now, with Online subscription, etc, I feel that this may crash. At least, I know that places that use these products reluctant to change to things like this. The resources that will be needed would be extraordinary and, well, the old saying goes... "If it an't broke, don't fix it."

Googlezon! http://www.robinsloan.com/epic/ This flash video that someone made makes claims that there will be practically no newspapers left by 2010. ^^' And before then, the news starts being fabricated... it's not really news anymore... News wars! So, is the Internet really good for professional writers... no, since it will be all fabricated eventually. ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EPIC_2014

  8. Of Course... on Apple May Introduce New iPod on Wednesday · · Score: 1

It claims it will have some specs that the iPhone had (the touch screen), but does this mean the price is also going to be compared to the iPhone also? New iPod... at least $400 - $500... Might as well pick up the iPhone for another $100 and ditch the old cell phone anyways! What makes me worry the most is the price... right around the Christmas season they are speculating. Which is only going to drive the price even higher. Can you imagine what would have happened if the iPhone was released around the holidays... it's like the Cabbage Patch Kids/Tickle Me Elmo/Ferby all over again, too. Really, what the question here is if I will risk my life to get one of these... Very unlikely at the moment. Sorry Apple.

Ah ha! You caught me. ;) I was trying to be funny... didn't quite work, did it? As for the username, I've had it since around 5 years. I play guitar and my first name starts with Kat. Seemed logical and something I would remember.

Of course, your points are indeed valid.

Nature did predispose you to certain traits for being a woman; of course, any intelligent human can override the instinct with reason, which is why it's not necessary for a human to act according to a gender stereotype. But there's no reason not to be proud of the positive qualities nature might supply to you as a result of your gender - for example, testosterone in males is often associated with uncontrolled anger, when it can be applied to intense focus and willpower in "getting a job done".

This is one point that is vaild and also very true. Although, this trait has been evolved and primitve for the longest time and is biological. Another example could be that most women are "motherly" because of the traits to be childbearers and more nuturing.

Well, those stats are well done, but I guess I'm not the usual woman. I don't look for recipies and I don't look for animals. I suppose travel would be the remotely closest thing I could see myself looking for.

I actually get feeds from /., Homestar Runner, Penny Arcade Comic feeds, Kawaii Not feeds, some poltical journals (mostly socialist/liberal) and stuff from my friends and ThinkGeek on their new products up on the store.

You are right, BWJones, stereotypes are depressing. And no, sorry guys, I don't have a picture of myself posted in a bikini on my blog.
