    The only reason they toss the resumé away on the first pass is because the person reviewing it has degree or a boss that is a degree snob. People with degrees tend to color inside the lines and follow the rules they were taught, those that learn on the job and are more or less self taught look for new ways.

    PS I'll put a smart person with 8 yrs. experience in a field against any Ph.D fresh out of school in that same field on any given day! And yes I did attend college but my job and passions have nothing to do with my degree of so many years ago. Also based on some of the comments, I think Elon Musk should close up shop and go home...

    I'm self taught and far better for it, institutional learning is too rigid and doesn't foster creative individuality.

    It's funny all the finger pointing, how the government screws up IT, etc.
    I've seen dozens of major web site projects and many other major IT projects totally screwed up. It's not government, it the human people involved and they are everywhere!

    This is nothing compared to the companies that instate BYOD policy and then require you to sign a "Employment Agreement" that states the employer has the right to inspect the device no matter who owns it and there is no expectation of privacy (email, SMS, MMS, voice, VM, social, GPS data (Facebook and beyond)). People will say, so don't use it for work, but then you are penalized for not being accessible.

    - People must look before you click (hover over link, make sure it gels with URL)
    - Never use the same password on sites, especially if the site has info you consider sensitive (and make it a good password)

    Car insurance industry would dry up and would move to corporate liability.

    I can easily see within 5 yrs Pizza Hut using flying drones to do deliveries.
    Maybe there'd need to be a receptacle installed for receiving, and collision avoidance systems installed on the drones... No more paying people to drive the food, no more food stuck in traffic

    It's time to focus on the true problem, driving is unsafe because humans drive.

    It''s a gateway to more and more info, but still the real problem is how easy stores, banks and credit reporting firms make it to steal identities. If they were more interested in protecting the consumer, true anti-fraud measures would be put in place with free notification options.

    If the bug is reported to the developer and they do nothing, I don't feel bad for the developer and I can understand why the person who discovered it wants to get paid.
    If I lived in a world that didn't require money, it would be different.

    But either way, I do feel bad for the end users.

    I hope they develop better ways of locating the cancer in the body as well, otherwise it will be just like it is now. Dear Sir/Madam your tumor marker has shot up 10x, but we can't find where it's spread, so sorry.

    Most interesting cancer treatment research to me:
    - Dichloroacetic acid (it's as close to free as possible and has known side effects and is available some places now) but seems to work best in combination with chemo
    - anti-CD47 (has the potential to treat numerous cancers, but it's early)

    If Apple really wants to do something to differentiate the Mac from Wintel systems, how about they add in ARM chips to offload cycles from the Intel CPU and increase overall system performance. Basically the same thing they do with GPU, but in a different way.

    Personally I like having as many boot OS options available as possible, switching to an ARM only system would be a mistake IMHO

    Nonsense back at ya, you're referring to the pricing of systems from when few people had them to when many people had them (otherwise known as commoditizing) , I'm referring to the opposite process... As fewer and fewer people use desktop PCs, prices will start climbing again (but I have no idea how high that is).

    The sad part is, as tablet, phablets and phones take over computing needs for 70-90% of the population, the developers, etc that need more capabilities will end up paying more and more as the market shrinks.

    I remember there being a story about youtube sensors having the worst job in the world (in some peoples opinion), if Apple opened the floodgate they would have the same issue.

    My understanding is an estimated 2 percent to 3 percent of U.S. children are allergic to eggs, causing issues with vaccines. Also children with known allergies can be given anti-allergy medications, such as antihistamines and corticosteroids, before vaccination to help ward off or lessen an allergic reaction. [plagiarism]
    Vaccines for non-flu illnesses are 99% effective.

    The only students at risk are those who do not get vaccinated, which means those children's parent chose to put them at risk.
    Personally I think vaccines are a good thing and as soon as patches with micro-needles make them painless, there will be one less hurdle.

    Mandatory vaccines are another step towards fascism, education and clear communication would get most people there (except Scientologists).
