  1. Is it really about the cost right now? on Method for $1/Watt Solar Panels Will Soon See Commercial Use · · Score: 1

With the world slated to end in 2012, all of us should really dump all the money we can into energies that could prolong our inevitable deaths. Granted, there may be some left wing conservatives who really want coal to lead us into the future, but who really wants to go down without a fight? This right winged liberal (me) says, let's fight til the last momment, then take the energy saved in our strategically placed battery cells to the grave with us.

  2. AMD Needs Help It Seems on Intel Demos Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Quad-Core At IDF · · Score: 1

After reading this article.... well actually, while reading this piece my plans to build an AMD 4x4 just went out the Window. Although I am all about the fair competition, it is sad to see Intel kicking AMD in the a$$ so damn hard.

  3. Although I agree with you on Crazy Stevie's iPhone Prices are Insaaane! · · Score: 1

I agree with you 100 percent on this, however, I don't believe you should have posted this under an iPhone heading, I mean seriously. You must under estimate yoruself, because what you just said deserves to be ont he main page. Just a thought.

  4. Haven't we all done this though??? on RIAA Targets New Colleges, Still Avoids Harvard · · Score: 1

I, in no way support the RIAA for its actions and I honestly believe that they really need to stop trying to prove how big their 'legal cock' is. The bottom line is this though, the music industry hasn't done much to release high quality music like it has in the past. Mostof my college buddies, and myself included, would much rather download a few songs from a cd before geting sucked into buying it because of one great 'bump and grind' track. If anything, we (slash dottas) should get together and throw a law suit against the music industry for giving us crap for so long and throwing a fit when we stop taking it. But in long run, I think all of us have used programs such as Limewire at some point in our lives.... however, most of my usage of software like that was when I was in college myself. Maybe if college kids had more money then maybe they'd want to buy more music, instead of beer and pot. Oh well, this is never ending battle that needs to just go away!

  5. There migth be a way for DSL... on What To Do When Broadband is Not An Option? · · Score: 1

A couple years ago I was staying with family in the North Woods of cheesy Wisconsin, where Verizon owned all of the phone lines. I planned on staying up there for a while and after being spoiled with a constant internet connection, I opted to get a second phone line installed. So when Verizon came out and installed the line, I ended up giving them a call after the technician left to check a few things... long story short the operator ended telling me that hte new line installed was capable of DSL, and further more, I was the only one in town with this ability. A lot of the times, DSL can't be supported in a home because of older telephone line setups, but if you order a new one to be installed, then that may fix your problem. I wouldn't anticipate, if I were you, to be able to get this imformation from anyone at your local phone company, most of the time they take the obvious general answer, if no one else has it then you won't either. At most, ordering the new line to be installed should cost you 80 bucks, and the surprise at hte end of the install would be either you can get DSL on it or you can't.

  6. This hit me hard... on Alex the African Grey Parrot Dies · · Score: 1

The death of Alex the African Grey Parrot hit me harder than when Data died in the last Star Trek movie. This is truely a horrible day for Bird lovers everywhere. I guess I'll just go buy myself a gerbal to help fill the void. These are not smiles times.

  7. Janeway eats Kirks and Shits Picards on Nimoy May Be the Star of the Next Trek Film? · · Score: 2, Insightful

Don't forget, Voyager changed the past with Tom Paris.... when he had his incident on TNG, his name was Nick Ricardo. The name of this episode was 'The First Duty' Furthermore, don't forget Janeway made it to Admiral before Picard did, and all she had to do was break the Temperal Prime Directive to get there. In Picards defense, he never had to cheat to make his goals. I guess thats how affirmative action works in the future.
