    But open source software, you already have all the bits. Just need to find valuable US Open Source software and resell them under a commercial license that otherwise wouldn't be available.

    Most open source software licenses do not forbid commercial sales at all. As a matter of fact they usually say you can charge as much for the software as you can get for it. In reality open source software is the ultimate free market software. The buyer is completely aware of what he is buying, the seller is completely aware of what she is selling. It is only closed sourced software that hides important information from one party to the other.

    What makes the American experience exceptional or did at one time was the fact that government was subjects of the people.

    Why do you see that as a problem? It only makes to me that they would want to quit carrying burdens that other employers should be shouldering.

    Damn, going on 4 years and I still have not managed to my N900's socket break despite nearly daily charging. Are you sure this just isn't a simple case of the manufacturer having a bad hair day when the phone was assembled?

    ...but just doesn't know it yet. They bet the farm on familiarity and they lost. Sad they had to take a decent company like Nokia down with them, but that's the breaks. Maybe MS Android could have saved the day, but it's pretty clear that such a move is way to late.

    I think you are confusing sharing rides with ridesharing. Ridesharing is where you call the company in advance, and they come and pick you up, possibly picking up other people along the way and then drop you off and charge both of you the full fare amount, which is usually about the same as a cab ride.

    So in actuality, it is faresharing. People have been sharing rides from at least the first time the decided to jump on the backs of horses.

    They hired the firm in attempt to take action because something is happening. If they did nothing then they would be held liable for ignoring the problem.
