Have you considered that it might be possible that the people buying SUVs buy them because they like SUVs? I really can't see manufacturers making them if people refused to buy them. Perhaps the goal should be to make SUVs as energy effecient as possible instead of trying to keep them from being sold at all, which obviously isn't working for you at all.
Three twelves and four days off is quite common in health care in the US, and "flex" pay provides plenty of PTO days. I like it because when your working you're working, but when your off you're off.
In this age of the bottom line is everything your best bet is to sit down and calculate the odds that you will earn more by furthering your educated versus the odds that you won't. Choose wrong and you will be eventually be labelled as just another one of those who were not intelligent enough to survive in today's economy, choose right and you could find yourself among the infamous 1%! Are you being sarcastic? The open source hardware one is a light blue semi-circle with squared off here, reminds me of the KDE logo except it's missing a bottom tooth. The open source initiative one is a green semi-circle with a dark green outline and no teeth. There is no way the two could be confused.

Forgoiong a discussion on whether or not the "entertainment" in question actually promotes Progress or is useful, it does seem to say that after a certain period of time that "entertainment" will no longer be protected by an "exclusive Right." Certainly you don't have a problem with the Constitution, do you?

There is much more to politics than a simple left and right and it still amazes me that authoritarians are still able to keep libertarians, both social and conservative, fighting amongst themselves so they can continue to control them. Really now, is the debate over whether the order should be "Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" or "Pursuit of Happiness, Liberty, and Life" that big of deal to let those who want to dictate to us stay in power?
Unless you can show that the potential profit, and that profit must be made within the next quarter or three, is worth the risk of investing in such an enterprise there isn't much chance of individual Americans investing much.
Good point! When you outlaw something you make everybody who uses that something an outlaw. I believe history has proven that making popular things illegal simply does not work in the long run. The US, being focused solely on quarterly profits and all, will probably never recognize this fact.

Good question! I guess it's because I got hooked on slashdot over a dozen years ago. Back then it was much more than an advertising medium for billion dollar corporations such as Intuit though.
Saw an update for my phone was available, which is pretty rare nowadays. My thanks to the maintainers for not forgetting this fantastic pocket computer that also makes phone calls. Damn you Elop!!!
So it is still a matter of education then? I thought most people by now were aware that giving access to their computer was akin to giving access to their wallet?
Sometimes I wish I were a neutral observer far removed from the earth simply waiting to record the results of this most fascinating human societal experiment. Which system will prove the most successful, the one that is willing to suffer short term losses for long term gain or the one that focuses solely on providing the greatest reward in the shortest amount of time? Fascinating indeed!!
Who in their right minds still runs an operating system that allows something like this? This is 2012 for $insert_favorite_diety_here sake! Everybody should know by now that anything requiring root/admin access to a machine is highly suspect. Certainly even Window's has done away with the reboot anytime you install anything mentality by now, right?
And congratulations, your side is still winning! Someday maybe people will realize that all their 99 cent apps cost them a lot more than the best part of a buck, but as we both know that someday is far away. Hell, it may even be you who in some small way paves the way to a Star Trek type replicator that relieves everyone from worrying about how food gets on their plates. As for "enslaving via debt", the current trend of requiring a master's degrees to perform associate degree level skills has pretty much already accomplished that.
