I seriously think it could compete with commercial glues as-is, but as the article points out, their poop is loaded with parasites and it does still smell like poop.
Their shells aren't that hard, they crush about as easily as any other snail it seems - as you'll find out the first time you take a step in an infested area without looking down.
I imagine it's possible to puncture a tire with their shells in the same way that you could puncture a tire with a thin piece of glass.
Which is actually a very uncommon form of li-ion battery. Military drones use it, the batteries are taken out of service after just a few charge cycles.
I hear people do in Africa but that's about it. An African guy I used to work with said that when they're cooked the smell is horrific.
They're really terrible creatures, when crushed they release eggs, their poop is profuse and a lot like epoxy glue, and of course they're quite gross themselves. Any two can reproduce together, they can easily overrun an area.
That may seriously be what happens at some point in the future. They all get tossed out the back of a truck in the Afghanistan/Pakistan border region, right before some drones show up. A few more unnamed "suspected militants" dead around the same time wouldn't raise a single eyebrow.
Depends on whether visual deterrence or effective enforcement is more important.
Not that I'm suggesting this is for anything but spying, likely including domestic spying since it would be undetectable...drones are just one of those technologies with a terrible positive application:negative application ratio.
What's wrong with being an anti-Googlr shill, vs. just being anti-Google, is the false presentation of paid PR as a legitimate, unbiased personal opinion. Normal people who aren't nuts post and submit articles about things other than how bad Company X is. I'm no Google fanboy, don't know what gave you that opinion. I've been accused of being a Nintendo fanboy by people who aren't good with spacing and capitalization.

Slashdot doesn't use BBcode at all, it uses (restricted) HTML.
They may have been picked up for loitering with a name similar to a known terrorist's.

With a little trickery in the title line and a little lack of observation on your part ;-)
Google Earth already uses drones for aerial photography.
Bow chicka bow wow!
Science is powerless against its arch-enemy, Popular Bullshit :-(

Blatant anti-Google shill spotted, see his post & submission history!
Hell yeah!
Seriously, this could be what it means. DirectX was the awful glue sticking gaming to Windows!

I'd seen this research before and thought the same thing, I'm pretty sure I'd catch any answers that had been changed if they tried that on me.
The only problem is that they'll explode if the levels are OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAND!!!!

And I2P *is* suited to Bittorrent traffic.
You can download a table of infohashes for every single torrent on TPB in one file, it's about 90MB. That could be shared around on flash drives.
Don't forget Tor. TPB is actually available on there. It's not available on freenet AFAIK.
Just checked to make sure it was still working...once that's up it's all good.
This. An SSD is more risky than a RAID0 array. It's a huge step up in risk from a single HDD.
