The only useful way to use BitCoin might be to transfer funds anonymously. Buy some bitcoins, give them to a friend with instructions to SELLSELLSELLRIGHTFUCKINGNOW!, friend cashes bitcoins quick before the value takes a dump - money transferred. But don't waste electricity mining it, leave that for the suckers.

Okay so there's metal up there, now you have to set up a mine and a foundry on an asteroid. Let's imagine you can built everything once you get there, from precision bearings and electric motor components to specialized drill bits. Can you imagine the number of solar panels that would be needed to power this whole operation? A small nuclear reactor probably wouldn't be a much better deal in weight vs. energy. It would take such a long time to break even in materials launched from earth vs. materials mined from an asteroid that it would still be horrendously expensive.

What? The Internet is very hierarchical. The only reason the US government doesn't have sole control over DNS is national TLDs. Darknets that run on top of the Internet are another matter. That said, the only part of the Internet that actually needs any hierarchy is DNS.

Namecoin has a first-come-first-served system of domain ownership with no oversight. That means it will only ever be popular with Internet libertarians, because nobody else would want to touch such an anarchic hellhole. It would never ever be practical for business. Ever. And .onion is technically better so it's not even useful for uber-geek tinkering.

I am a highly skilled driver and I tried texting and driving once.

It was the most dangerous and stupid thing I ever did in a vehicle. I'll never do it again. Dialing a number and driving is quite nearly as bad. I suspect car stereos are pretty bad too but I never use them.

I can do a lot of things with cars that would make most of you shit yourselves, often while talking with a navigator, but I can't text and drive. So any average driver who confidently proclaims that they can do it is an absolute moron. A total brainless idiot. I'm not sure there's even hope for rehabilitation of someone so staggeringly stupid.

Reminds me of one offroad rally I was on, I crested a hill with a great view of the jungle valley below with clouds floating below me and the ocean in the distance. I'm sure it was an awesome sight but I barely had time to flick a glance at it since I was driving flat-out on a crappy narrow road with the cliff with the breathtaking view on the left and trees on the right. I really wanted to look but it wouldn't have been safe.

I went from a candybar with a thumb keyboard to a slider and I thought it was a positive move. The landscape slider is the best layout possible for a phone IMO - you can get a widescreen the size of the whole device and a proper thumb keyboard at the same time. The only downside is that they're more fragile than a candybar and it adds some thickness (but with time that will become a non-issue).
