Still some problems with the whole concept of the wearable.
1. User interface. So you have a screen that allow the computer to talk to you, but the ability to talk to the computer is still limited. OK there is voice recognition but it is still limited. Then there is touch pads that are mounted were ever on your body that does not interfere and can be kept out of the way. If you limited the user inputs to just pointer clicks, the keypad is eliminated and that does clear up some of the hardware needed. Whatever app you are running then needs to have optimized to point, click, and shoot.
2. Borging the human. Cables between the battery pack-system-display-the user interface... that keep getting wrapped around you and getting in the way. Wait till you start walking and one of your cables latches onto the handrail on a stair... Ouch.
3. Just plain Ergonomics. Anytime you put something in front of you face, your attention will be drawn to it. The whole idea of it is to allow the person to move and not be tethered. Fact, most people can not chew gum and walk at the same time. Now imagine a screen that is putting some type of information while walking around. Just one brief glimpse to the screen and the person walks into something because their attention was momentarily is distracted, walks into something and trips and hurts himself. We have problems with cell phones and cars? Wait tills some idiot starts playing quake on the highway.
-- I have problems with people who wear a walkman. They are oblivious to the world and are only using one of their senses. With this they are going to be zombie.
Were I work we just got done installing 22 additional racks of HP systems. Each rack has 19 dual P2-600's. Thats on top of the other 25+ rack currently installed. Heat for them is not too bad. 4000-4500 watts of heat load per rack. ~200K watts heat total for bunch. Then the file server also take up some extra heat load. I would guess it would add up to the ~300-350K watts of heat loading.
HP has a nice system out that is 2u high with a dual P2 in it and a 9gig disk. We were also looking at the IBM system that is 1u high with a dual P3 in it.
Then I must be a odd person. I was born on 11-19-1957! All odd digits.
Sniff - I was born on a odd and this is the last one of my life.

You may think the millenium in 2001. Tell you what - I will party on my millenium and I will party on your millenium. I will be happy both days! Does it really matter? You may be correct but so what. Anything count for a party.
I have managed to luck out without a degree. In the last three jobs I have it would have help out my placement with a masters or a Ph.D. I worked thought the ranks for the last 20+ years to get were I am now (12 of them were in the military). I am continuing to fight in the year end reviews against my peers that have these degrees. I have to prove that I am as good or better than they are.
I have been attending night schools at the expense of private life to get that degree. Get it at all costs. Never down play that silly piece of paper. You may not personally seem to use it but once during the hiring process, but it is used by management type to judge people. Call it bullshit but it is there and it will work for you or against you.
Been there and am still there. Some day I will be able to say "been there, done it"

The legs of the symbol are faced the opposite direction from a Swastika. It was used as some middle eastern religious symbol of some sort.
