I went ahead and installed the LiveHTTPHeaders, thanks for the tip.
Now perhaps someone can explain to me why Slashdot has Futurama quotes in their response. When I load Slashdot I see X-Fry and X-Bender headers with quotes from the show.
I hate NASCAR. Nothing puts me to sleep faster (except motocross racing). If you want to see some *real* racing watch FIA World Rally. Some of the in car footage is insane.
I have one of those phone fidelity devices that I made a few years ago. All it is is a tranformer. Good for making crank calls. "High quality" is not a description I would associate with this device. Negativeland rocks.
Ok, it wasn't a BSOD, but the other day I was coming home from work and one of the fancy new BART ticket machines had a Windows desktop (with icons for IE, Outlook, Recycle Bin etc.) instead of the ticket issuing application and an error dialog saying something about being unable to start a service.
i admit, i didn't check the file extension before i d/led the clip. i realized it was a.mov before i tried to play it and thought "0oh no it's quicktime" why can't they just post an.mpg version?
I wonder if WINE will run AutoCAD at some point in the future? That's the only app I need to run in Windows, and I can't do without it.

I don't own a r3. I own its little brother, the r2. I have been following the word on the street regarding their performance. They are pretty much deaf to anything outside the tv broadcast bands. Many people are very disappointed with their purchase, especially the ones that bought one hoping to receive X-10 transmissions. You can hook up a different antenna and a preamp but then you are defeating the purpose of a tiny self contained unit. And the performance isn't as good as the X-10 receivers.... Don't buy one of these if you want to watch anything besides broadcast tv.
I can't stand it. I tried to watch it when it started but the opening theme music is so freaking painful that I am forced to change channels or just turn the tv off in shock.
I think RFID is a more common technology in this application. I am mostly guessing but if those FastTrack (I-Pass, EZ-Pass....) things were 802.11(b), curious people would be putting them to more creative uses.
"(*) Quiet codes are little bursts that are sent prior to transmitting, so that multiple people can share the same channel. It's not perfect, but it works pretty well."
Actually the "quiet codes" are subaudible tones that open the squelch of the radio when received. Also called CTCSS (Continuous Tone Controlled Squelch System), they've been in use for years. They are not "little bursts".
I have a BookPC and it is not quiet at all, it is louder than my main box. I bought it to play dvd's, mp3's etc but it is just too freaking loud to leave in the living room with the rest of the stereo components. The power supply is some non-standard/non-replaceable form factor so unless you can modify it yourself your stuck with it. Other than the above complaints I dig it.
I think you linked to the wrong product, perhaps you meant to link to this?
I have an Apple IIe with the CP/M card in my parents attic. Fired it up about 3 years ago. Good times.

My theory is that bigfoots (bigfeet?) are shaving, then infiltrating urban areas and passing themselves off as homeless people.

I keep a 486DX266 in my glovebox so I can tell people "my car has a 486 in it".

That interview was posted April 1, 1999. I assume it was photoshopped.
