    No - all it does is "prove" that the phone has been there (prove in quotes since its not very accurate either).

    So, if I'm a burglar and know my phone is under watch, I leave it with my gf at home, and then use it as an alibi? Or the other way around, you borrow it to a friend, who does the breakin, and you get convicted? I think not.

    The only real scenario I can imagine is when a known burglar is monitored to be near some sensitive area, and they catch him/her red-handed. but that would be one helluva invasion of privacy.

    but I cant remember defining the expression of jumping the shark..

    You do mean the episode where Fonz gets challenged by a beachboy, the first contest is a tie, and to break the tie they jump over the shark, and the competitor bails out just before the ramp?

    I keep all mail on one machine, to which I ssh when I need to access mail.
    Then I use mutt to read/write mails, which I can highly recommend (especially if you like 'vi' :)

    use plextor 32x cdroms for ripping to get the best quality at the highest speed.

    dunno about hardware, but why not put up 10-20 boxes with the above drive, or maybe sharing a tower to make cd-changing easy?

    I dont think they expect the current linuxcrowd to use it, rather they'll use it with internet appliances running linux + the aol client, and nothing else, thus getting rid of any OS license cost.

    console-apt 0.6.6.0pre1 does this for me; Each package has a + sign infront, and pressing enter expands into a tree, which are the packages needed (which in turn can be expanded :)

    # apt-get update ; apt-get install console-apt :)
