I thought idiots like you have already moved on to Digg. I guess not.
He should try looking at the UID# next time. He might have gotten a +5 whatever if he had responded to one of my comments, but you have been here since the beginning. You're number 6400, for science's sake!
...how much would you bet that he's one of the many that doesn't take the time to RTFS?
... is expected to be over 45 minutes.
Seriously, could the manufacturers try to produce a phone that goes, like, a whole week on a single charge?
Sure, they could - if they find cheap new compounds that can safely store massive quantities of energy, or if they design a super energy efficient phone (and yes, that usually means not so many cool features/abilities).
...unless you're all for carrying what amounts to mini-bombs in your pocket?
PS: I get about 5~6 days on one full charge. Use an extended battery, turn off the backlight option, and don't make calls often;)
M-W.com IS the Merriam-Webster dictionary, my friend, and seems just as credible as your paper edition. If the source was wikipedia, then I might agree with you. It was MUCH more credible than your un(easily)verifiable claim - face it, your claim isn't backed up by the Merriam-Webster dictionary. It is backed up with "Because this is what I am telling you."
So - "constantly changing"? I think not, if you bought a current hard edition you would find the exact same definition. Webster changes at a rate of about once a year, usually with minor changes only (a few new words in, a few old words out). I'm sure you are aware that some of the changes are from fixing incorrect/poorly researched information.
If you scan a page from a well known dictionary's edition circa early 1900's (I'm sure you can find one in Project Gutenberg), or find a credible website explaining why the definition was changed, then I would be more likely to agree with your definition.
Till then, the Moon is made of cheese, according to this Unquestionable Source I have sitting in my lap;)
I've been hooked on Something Positive for about 4 years now (gotta love a comic who's first punchline is home abortions), The Librarianist caught my eye about a year ago (I like it about as much as PBF, but it isn't in color), and The Bunny System doesn't update nearly enough to sate me. Honestly, though, if you check your favorite artist's Blog/BBS they'll link you to who they read.
Seems to be that Apple is (supposedly) actively trying to brick your phone if you unlock it, instead of it just being a side effect. They are caring too much about who provides the service, because their iPhone business model revolves around locked phones. Personally, I think the iPhone is a POS (for the price) and wouldn't buy it anyway, but it is not a good idea to try to piss off those you want as customers.
I have heard the term "nigger" defined as "someone who is ignorant" quite often, but only now have I bothered to read up on the actual meaning (because how often will you use such a word in your every day life?). You, sir, seem to be the ignorant one.
Above and beyond the racial slur (which I was surprised to find IS acceptable English, not slang) it is defined as:
a member of a socially disadvantaged class of persons
It seems ACs are the niggers of SlashDot, owning no Karma to rise above the rest of us. From the mouth of ACs spew crap that threatens to turn me off to the site - so, yes, those niggers are a continuing threat.
Only alcoholics drink before noon... good thing my lunch is around 1!
Just thinking out loud now - if it is always 5 o'clock somewhere, it stands to reason that it is also 12 o'clock. Therefore I'm only an alcoholic in certain regions of the world. Here comes a shot of daddy's little helper!
IANAL, but I don't believe you have to destroy your backup CDs when you sell the original. I could be wrong, but that is how I manage to bring the actual cost of a CD down to a reasonable level.
But, out of 600+ comments, I could not find ONE that mentioned how fucked up this will be for people with Aspergers. They are practically defined by their facial ticks and strange/abnormal emotional responses in stress situations, aren't they?
Who are you, and what have you done with the REAL/.
That I looked up Associated Press articles to see if this was true? I couldn't tell if it was real/informative, flamebait/fake, funny/fake, or funny/true. Damn you "Insightful" you tell me nothing!
Yep - 10,000 hours before you even make it to a prominent musical college! That is why I will keep this piano thing as a hobby that - sometimes - pays for itself.
I wouldn't know, except one of our armchair specialists had a nice comment above (hooray for reading 60+ comments so far, only have of which are repeated!)
Previous studies have shown that repetitive behavior weakens synaptic pathways in specific parts of the brain (initially). Results like that make you wonder WTF is going on, if someone excels from practice their synapses should have been strengthened.
This study found that a second compound (later) strengthens specific synaptic pathways (slightly different ones IIRC), which would presumably lead to high cognition in the area of your study.
Like I said though, I got all that from the comments section - so why not take a few minutes to re-read the +4's and +5's.;)
On a serious not, I, too, welcome our media-infringing*, entertainment-system, goatse-projecting (don't look into laser with remaining sanity), toothy, overlords.
*do I recall something about needing to pay a fee for having a large enough (practically theater sized) entertainment setup?
I think the comic you were hoping for is this!

About 1186 days and counting.
When will they come out with a cure, instead of killing us with hope?

Did you mean:
"Just secrete some secret codes"?
I didn't get to sleep till 10am, and for once it wasn't from catching up on /.

With word-choice that atrocious, I just have to!
Cyinide and Happiness (It's not often I get to link to a non-xkcd comic!)

Is there a mGlu-suppressant in double-cheeseburgers? That would explain just about everything.

That's alright, I think I understood you better the second time.
I loaded up about 20 stories I hadn't yet seen, and when I browsed the comments, boom, they're gone.
...did I /. /.?
Bear With Me
I just realized, half the fun of xkcd is sharing - it does help that there is a comic for EVERY occasion.
The refresh button helps.
I, too, seem, to, be, having, an, asthma, attack.
