My complements to the author. Although most of what was said was fairly obvious, the "From Bill Gates" point-of-view was a very refreshing way to try to get across an old point that the Linux community should pay more heed to.
I saw a story on this car on the news sometime this past summer. They are not at all quiet, infact they are very noisy. They sound like an air compressor. In addition the acceleration is supposedly a bit squishy. These cars would not sell well at all in the US. Here in amarica we want cars that look, sound, and feel BIG and POWERFUL. These cars sound and feel wussy, and they don't exactly make up for it in their airodynamic body design.
I'm a little confused on this one.... Last time Phish came to my town, we spent several hours on the phon ewith ticket master attempting to get tickets to any one of the three shows, however they all sold out before we could get through. Why the number of devoted phish phan that there are, phish doesn't need any promoting. When was the last time you went to a concert for a single band that had over 70,000 people show up?
I might be able to get cable modem in a year or two.... I live in MA! I not in the middle of no where! COME ON! SOMEBODY SELL MY SOME BANDWIDTH HERE! All of the UK will probably have DSL befor I do. I think I am going to have to move to cambridge.
ummm. ya. In general you can already do that. infact, you don't have to actually run either WM, just have the libraries and such installed. Thats what I do....
No joke. I already use linux, because I am a geek and Like networkig, but as soon as they get ride of this library crap, and K office comes out (lookin' good) I think I will be able to start telling my non-geek friends "Hay, you should install linux, it won't crash as often." Right now, i know that they wouldn't be able to do anything once they see a comand prompt. (so really it doesn't matter how good linux is. They still can't use it.)
I often have three four five or more Netscape windows open. Just seems tohappen when there are a couple of good threads from one page, I would rather just open a new window so I don't have to use the back button a lot. At home with a 24k connection, I have a lot of windows open so that at least one of them will be fully downloaded, giveing me somethign to read while the other three are downloading...
If the current servey does NOT include students, and you say about %50 are useing Apachie, then mathmatics say that includeing students would reduce the %. If infact 60 or 70% of students use apachie (which from what I see they don't) then it would raise the stats. BTW, I run apachie even tho I don't know anythign beyond putting the HTML and stuff in the directory and it works.:-)

I can't wait. I really want to install Linux on my moms computer. :-) Cooperation here will hopefully speed up Linux On the Desktop.

I am a more recent convert. I just got my SCSI emulation going for CD burning, so by next month I should be 100% MS free. But I can't return it. :-(
