At this point it may be redundant, but seriously, ignoring "internet bullies" is much easier that ignoring regular ones. If you can't distinguish between the two, you probably have problems of a much greater SHUT UP SHUT UP HOW CAN YOU SAY I'M WRONG YOU'RE WRONG I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I'M GOING TO KILL YOU ALL I'M GOING TO KILL MYSELF YOU STUPID BULLY
Kind of OT, but I'm always hearing on my 'regular' radio about how HD Radio can flag a song I like and later let me buy it from iTunes. Every time I hear that, I can't help buy think "Why not just record the damned song and let me download it to my iPod?" (I don't own an iPod, but still).
Actually, now that I think about it, this is way OT. Mod accordingly:)
You bring up a point with the whole "Home" edition vs. "Pro" edition.
Every PC sold comes with some kind of half-assed "Home" edition (I'm being overly broad here, but bear with me). I've (anecdotally) noticed that people with a trial version or 'home' version of a given program will actively seek out a full-featured version. And why not? They've already paid a decent buck for the machine, and the software (to most people) is a part of that purchase, in the same way that the "Blue E" is the internet.
Before anyone starts with the whole 'Joe Sixpack doesn't know that!', how many of you have given a cracked copy of Nero to your dad? Or a serial-free copy of MS Office to your neighbor?
When a 'Home' edition is given away for "free", Joe Sixpack feels entitled to the 'Pro' version because he paid good money for the computer (the one with an 'E' for the interweb).
You mean like how major ISP's get tax breaks and incentives to build internet infrastructure in return for a monopoly on service for a given area? I don't know how they stay in business...
Bush can NOT exercise wartime powers. Or rather, he should not be able to exercise wartime powers. War requires a declaration by Congress. Military action at the behest of the President is not war, regardless of how it's spun. If the President is able to single-handedly declare war, then use his own declaration as reason to dismiss traditional Executive restraint, the whole goddam Constitution is worthless.
Yes, I'm well aware that this is essentially what's been going on for the last 8 years. It's been drawn out enough to make it less extreme. Just a signing statement here, an executive order there. Of course, until Congress realizes that it's own power has been hijacked by the Executive, there's really not much that can be done.
Regardless, it really is nice to see the Judiciary stepping up lately. Hopefully some of our elected leaders get the message.
FWIW I had the same problem some time back. I was able to fix it by putting the flash plugin (libflashplayer.so) in the system-wide plugins folder,/usr/lib/firefox/plugins rather than the local ~/.mozilla/plugins folder. Not sure if that still works since the problem didn't crop up after a Slackware upgrade, but it might help.
I was trying to insinuate that I wouldn't mind "immersing myself in the material" for a drug case:)
But yes, I agree with you. I'd actually like to serve on a jury sometime. I was supposed to last summer, but there are literally 3 days a year that I simply can't miss work and it fell on one of them. I sent in the form to push the date back a week or whatever and I never heard back. Go figure.
It will just help poor intel get passed more efficiently. I'm pretty sure the White House press secretary and various cable news channels cornered that market some time ago.
, a person has immense psychological value.
Any organisation who can sue the length and breadth of the galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through, and still knows where it's person is, is clearly an organisation to be reckoned with. There, fixed that for ya. Err... wait.
Why don't you give me a REAL WORLD example of a showstopping application that you run that takes advantage of X's "network transparency" so I can laugh and point at 10 better ways to solve your problems on both Linux and OS X? It's not so much that a particular application utilizes network transparency -- it's that I am able to utilize it. I have a few machines that don't do much besides being file servers. They do, however, have decent processors that are basically doing nothing, so why not encode DVD rips without taking a performance hit on my 'primary' machine? Or have a bittorrent client running on another?
There might be other ways to accomplish this, but it usually involves finding a suitable application, installing on multiple machines, configuring on multiple machines, etc.
I don't know enough about X to know if these minor uses are worth the effort, but it's still pretty useful.
It's not religion bashing so much as it's creationism-bashing. They can be mutually exclusive, and creationists deserve all the bashing they get for propagating such useless ideas while simultaneously wasting everyone's time. Just because most creationists are religious doesn't mean attacking them is attacking their religion.
Hi I'm a Mac DNS server, and Windows Vista is way more secure than OSX.
*dives for cover*
Watch it, if Jack McCoy gets wind of this you're fucked.

It's about time we had some Law and Order in that rogue Debian distro!

If only he'd sued the Magna Carta for suspending of habeas corpus :(

Use a condom?
;)
I kid, I kid.
Bye bye karma

For a second there I read it as 'Seth the Lesser' and wondered why a WoW character was lead lawyer.
Try the other link ;)
That's exactly what I was thinking.
In fact, I was going to suggest a "putoneinthelivingroom" tag.
I'd be willing to concede a search monopoly if they do, in fact, call this new company googhoo(yagle?).
They don't lack skills...
...they rack disciprine

That depends. Are the cars painted to look like cows???
What a novel idea! If only I could preside over drug possession cases...
Why not? You got a beef?

It's the same reason anyone enjoys unequivocally proving someone else wrong. Granted that has happened yet, but it happens all the time around here ;)
