There is a plainly obvious solution to this problem that the Taliban just can't touch... come on, RFC1149 - all they need is a bunch of pigeons and...
Of course they could outlaw birds too.
If you are looking for a good refresher on your French, I would suggest a bottle of a good WINE... perhaps a good Cabernet or Burgandy will fill your soul with a bit of the French culture
... imagine my surprise when I saw 'the competition' and clicked it ready for some challenge, something to spice up my Tuesday morning at work, something to work late nights on while eating penguin mints and drinking Jolt... and discover MICROSOFT!
Why not kill two birds with one stone?

While donating to geek interests seems interesting, I think I'd rather give to something with a little bit more impact than a dot.org of some sort. If you are interested in doing something with a "greater" cause this Christmas - and of course tax season - check out something like donating your older equipment, or even newer equipment to some of the less well off, technologically (and probably otherwise), countries.
No guarantees but Friends of the Third World looks like it might be a good place to start.
Happy Holidays all...
The Wendy's Observatory is what fuels these scientific developments. Dave Thomas and his "cool crew" whipping up jr bacon cheeseburgers and frostys. What more could a scientist need? OH yeah, spicy chicken combo!
And what then: proteins? sugars? Maybe even primitive living cells? The only way to discover how far along the road to life this chemistry has gone is to sample these oases on Titan. Why do we need space missions to do this? It sounds like we could do this and better down at the local Wendy's salad bar!
eBay is supposedly (at least to bid) an 18+ site, which in my book puts it at least rated R. It sounds like this guy was causing a few more problems than saying some naughty words... but getting courts involved over someones dirty mouth seems to be a little bit of overkill, especially for a site that isn't supposed to be actively used by minors.
I can't seem to figure out what in the world the use of this is. Is it "bad" to have something run on more than one OS. If it works on more than one, that should be thought of as a feature, not really a reason to make a new language. Is this really going to be that different from java? If so, is it going to be easier to use? I guess what im saying is, is there even a need for something like this? If MS wants to put time/money into something maybe it would be better in somehting that is already platform specific, namely their own Windows APIs. Oh well... Microsoft will be Microsoft...
Maybe the goatse.cx guy could get the domain an.us?
Once upon a time, Sun got an injection against Microsoft...
Hmm... a vaccination against Microsoft...
Perhaps you were looking for injunction?

Ah - links to the previous story which links to the LA Times article... at least they know they are reposting this time...
hmm
Maybe NASA would do a bit better after listening to some pop music... "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger".... courtesy of Daft Punk of course...

So does this mean they will offer support?
ie: no more girl calls geek: Hey can you come over and fix my napster?

Actually last year was the first year the AP had been switched to C++... So I guess the world is on the last generation of pascal kids...
