Whether this guy is a liar is irrelevant.
Running semantic or linguistic analysis against business communications could reveal all kinds of valuable insights. Privacy and ethics concerns aside, of course.
there absolutely were positives. but there were also negatives. I decided to de-activate my account a few years ago now. At this time however, I would delete my account if given the option to do so.
i just "re-activated" my long deactivated account in the hopes of "deleting" it finally. i only had the de-activate option.. no delete available on my screen.
hahah.. had to share a (similar) story:
a friend from a northern town in canada told me he knew of someone who got the "Maori" face tattoos done. Except one day this person met someone from that part of the world. Apparently, the guy had used the "Maori female" tattoo patterns instead. hahah. i'm sure there's a morale here somewhere.. (i *think* this is a true story.. either way, worth a sad laugh)..
..and, by that logic, maybe cut long term costs overall given that they will realize up front that a subset of their customers cannot even use their site because it is not supported by common mac browsers, etc. I know I had this problem with http://fido.ca/ -- it appears as though they fixed the site now, but how many calls to tech support and how much re-inventing or patching up a poorly engineered site after the fact?
What is worse? N1AK suggesting that out of a population of X size, you might get Y innovations (where X:Y has a common ration across various countries), or your post that suggests N1AK is an unscientific proponent of religious zealots?
I'm left wondering if you would make the same claim if we were talking about a (say..) South American country rather than Iran.
There is no doubt that academia needs to be mindful of the learning environments it creates. But technology is no magic bullet.
A poorly designed lecture might lead to low attendance, but so can a badly designed online or technology-enhanced environment. Some courses simply work well in a large classroom environment. Others are more amenable to a blended learning environment.
i've been told i could text the words "stop" to any sender and it would block.
I am with Fido, here in Canada (Ontario).
Of course, the "stop" message costs against my texting quota (i'm not on an unlimited package). I haven't been overrun with rogue SMS so I can't comment on whether this is an effective deterrent.
mod parent up! good call i'd say hehe.. http://mobile.slashdot.org/story/11/03/25/1758250/Cable-Channels-Panic-Over-iPad-Streaming-App

nah, i can do all three. but it's taken my years to perfect my imperfections . .
..using a technology that was invented by Shampoo.
I would evaluate the risk vs. reward, but that's just me.
There's a trial here in Toronto with a similar technology. Automated delivery of prescriptions moves a step closer in Ontario
It was ported over from a precursor interstellar goo, obviously.
that's what shampoo said.

This story was covered by the CBC (Canadian Broadcast Corp.) with an interview of the headmaster of the Icelandic Elf School. Here's the link to the CBC broadcast: http://www.cbc.ca/thecurrent/2009/200903/20090327.html
That's like saying to your little girl, "It's not really your puppy's birthday honey, it's only the anniversary of its adoption".
Just enjoy the party and stop politicizing the invite.

are they going to go after Slashdot for providing articles "in audio form via an RSS feed, as read by our own robotic overlord."
