This happened in the Manchester commonwealth games. The rumour was that they built the pool to the correct length, but forgot to take into account the depth of the tiles. Unfortunately I can't find any on-line evidence to back this story up.
Exactly my point! The GP is wasting 10 mins of his 'downtime' with every book just because Audible are clinging to a business model with ineffective DRM.
Audible can charge at least $1 more for this stripped down service (assuming a minimum wage of $6).
Although you do have a point. Why I am posting on slashdot for free, when I could be shoving toonies (?!?) up my ass.
The "creators" of Scrabulous don't even make a token effort to add some new intellectual component to their game
Er, like being able to play it online, and through facebook? With automatic scoring and spellchecking?
I still don't understand the Challenge button though
What happens when cash does totally disappear?
The monetary system is based on there only being a finite amount of banknotes. If people start swapping debts rather than cash (this is what happens when a payment is made between bank accounts) then the number of underlying banknotes becomes meaningless.
If cash is meaningless, does the debt denominated in that currency become meaningless?
Anybody got any thoughts, or know of others who have researched this?

How much more would you pay to be able to directly download the whole book pre-split into 10 minute chunks?
You can work it out. Take how much you get paid an hour, divide it by 6. That's the going rate for 10 minutes of your life.
Shhh..
Remember the 1st rule of book club!
Bravo!
