Your view of history is wrong.
Speed... USB 1.1 was slow. Not much faster than floppies.
USB keys were not cheep until recently.
Don't forget that we all owe Apple for bringing USB into the mainstream. Before the iMac forced people to use USB, plenty of PCs were shipped with USB ports, but I had never seen anything plugged into them.
You want to shoot at a police car? I think if you think about that for a minute or so you can come up with several reasons why this would not be a good idea.
They won't record license plates belonging to Republican politicians near gay bath houses.
Well, thank god for that! We wouldn't want their wives to find out where they have been.
On another thought: Are there non gay bathhouses? (Assuming within the continental US.)
Oracle has managed to become the recipient of my complete and utter contempt. Even Microsoft has never managed to do that.
I got a call from Oracle at work the other day. The asked if it was a bad time to call. I said "You are calling from Oracle, it is always a bad time." They didn't seem shocked by this.
They wanted to know why I disliked them so much, so I began listing some of their most unconscionable behavior since their take over of Sun, then when I got bored I hung up on them.
There is a short story called "The machine stops." from 1909, written by E.M. Forster, that pretty accurately predicts the internet.
A little google will find a copy for you. I highly recommend it. I found out about it because my mother remembered reading it as a child.
You think this has not already happened?
Just look at the H1N1 vaccine that was released in 1/4 the time it usually takes. Testing is just overhead anyway. (I skipped the vaccine, came down with H1N1, and then got better.)
I have been demanding his head on a stick for decades, not that it has done any good.
Of course anyone who takes birth control advice from an unmarried, celibate, man in a dress needs to have their head examined.
I once built a bootable CD that would boot Dos 6.22, and Windows 3.11. It was a blast to drop into someones 500MHz computer and watch windows fly.
Of course it was fun to watch them panic as their XP install seemed to have disappeared.
I have seen this twice. The first was a friend of mine, smart and computer savvy enough to have a decent password, and the second was my sister, who's password was probably abc123, qwerty1, or password.
This encouraged me to begin changing all my passwords.
I am 43, and I own about a dozen wrist watches.
I have worn a watch since I was about 7 years old. My grandfather loved watches and bought anything that caught his eye. When they got warn, or he lost interest he passed them down to me. God I wish I had known what some of those would be worth now. I have one of the first digital watches. With an LED display. I reciently decided that I would start collecting watches that I liked.
It is amazing what you can buy these days, for very little money.

This is a plus! I wish my car had this feature.
I honestly think that Automobiles would not get approval if they were invented today.
I prefer punch cards.

You feel bad? My poor Ma Mini has a G4 processor in it, and only 512MB RAM.

How dare you suggest I can't empathize with you losers!
You are not trying hard enough.
I have bought many refurbed products from Apple.
I would expect more problems from a cheep USB hard drive.
I bought my refurbished timecapsule direct from Apple's website for $179 delivered.
I know of many but they are just too 1337 to let you loosers know about them. :)

I wonder how many are using good passwords.
I am betting not many.
Well done.
I had a friend tell me he had just spent $1000 on a new tranny. I almost asked what her name was. :)
That is the combination to my luggage.
I had one. My grandfather gave it to me. I wish I still had it.
What it is worth is subjective.
I bought a $150 watch at a clearance store for $17
I bought a $3000 Rolex at an auction for $350
I have also bought a couple of $8 Chinese crap because I thought they looked cool.
One of my favourites is a $10 Chinese LED watch. I think it looks really cool.
