I hate to feed the troll here, but I think it's pretty obvious that the idea was that you'd be sent the 650MB after paying for the album, which I assume is production + 3 cents + profits.

  2. Re:alpha blending in x vs wm on Not Just Eye Candy At Freedesktop.org · · Score: 1

IIRC, KDE notifies apps that are using the background as their own that the background is changing. This has nothing to do with the faux-transparency effect, where the obscured windows are shown also.

  3. Re:alpha blending in x vs wm on Not Just Eye Candy At Freedesktop.org · · Score: 2, Informative

KDE doesn't handle transparent windows. It fakes transparency by getting the content of the lower windows and using them as the background to higher-level ones. So you'll notice that if you have any kind of changing content underneath a transparent window, you won't see it update.
It's not a matter of transparency being implemented at a lower level- transparency isn't really implemented at all at this point.

I don't see any harm- they probably enjoy it as much as I do. At least, the AT&T rep thought it was pretty funny when I asked if I could get massages included in my long-distance plan...

    1) IIRC, the goal is to not have to memorize an IPv6 address.

    2) It becomes ::1. I think that's pretty easy to deal with. (IPv6 address are collapsible, so zeroes can be omitted.)

For more information, check (shameless plug) http://www.lug.psu.edu/presentations/ipv6.pdf, an overview of IPv6.

I'm not really sure what the odds are when you only have one example. That gives you at least these possibilities:

    - It happened once.
    - It happens frequently under similar circumstances.
    - It happens frequently under different circumstances but you're entirely unaware of that fact.

You could certainly direct your attention to similar systems because you can at least prove that it's happened in one such system, but I'm not convinced that the odds are any better.
