Telecommunications, especially wireless technologies, is no longer a hot topic in both academia and industry. Seriously, if not Qualcomm, who else will really push the development of wireless technologies, Huawei? Apple has very limited, if not nothing, contribution to the fundamental evolution in this area. Apple would just kill the industry.
I have just installed it on an old PC (2.8G CPU and 512M mem) yesterday. The installation procedure is easy and smooth. And the hardwares are well supported except the network card, a marvell yukon 88E8001 card. Fortunately, the device driver utility provided by the livecd succesfully detected it and pointed out where the 3rd part driver can be obtained. The driver's installation script, however, has some problems. As a result, I still have to manually run update_drv with correct paramter after installation to attach the driver. Anyway, the system successfully runs finally. With Gnome interface, the operations are easy and familiar.
GNOME still evolves forward. That's good news. Telepathy based instant messenger, empathy, is finally officially included. Although there have been so many discussions on the topic empathy vs pidgin in GNOME related communities, it may still be an interesting question now. Anybody would comment on it?
He actually means ``IEEE put the paper on its Website. Someone then posted a link to it to Slashdot, thus rekindling an ancient discussion about microkernels vs. monolithic systems.''
9fans? :)
Nice. The chinese officials did the right thing.

Oh no ... every time I saw the word "major", I have to pray and hope that the update won't ruin my box (especially the coexisting linux installation).
If it is really legal, who not provide the similar service out of China?
