I don't have a 360, and if I was in the market for a new computer that happened to come with one, I would get that deal. Look at the PS2.. it may not be making huge sales, but I guarantee you people are still buying them and playing them, because companies keep making games for them. Just because it's near the end of its life cycle doesn't mean that it's going to disintegrate or blow up, it's still going to be played for years to come.

    by these commentors...

You buy a cheap PC, where Microsoft makes money from the license for Win7, they throw in a CHEAP 360 (basically the Arcade version, which I believe is is like 150-200$). After you've got a nice new free console, what do you do? Buy another controller (money to MS), buy some games (more money), buy xbox live (more money), buy a new hard drive for more space (more money), etc. This isn't desperation at all, this is just another way for Microsoft to make gobs of money. If they had given away an Elite Xbox, then there would be less money re-couped but they would still end up making a profit in the long run.

This is directed (like they say) at college kids, going to school for the first time and looking for a new computer.. AND A FREE CONSOLE?! HOLY SHIT! That sounds like a great deal to me, now I can go to school and play Xbox with all my friends and I don't have to shell out an extra 200$ for the console!

I don't understand how people aren't getting this..

All these posters are trying to act elitist and say they never used AIM..
Growing up, EVERYONE that I knew and EVERYONE in my school had AIM.. you can't pretend that it wasn't the cool thing to use as an American youth (12-16) back in the late 90s. Yes there were others; I also had MSN (for those out of the country that I talked to), ICQ (very briefly and only for a few people), and used IRC (still do).. but for the technically ..slow.. and average youth in America, AIM was the messenger of choice.

I just believe that we shouldn't underestimate their power. Just because al-Qaeda lost their "leader" doesn't mean that they are not able to hit back at the US or any other country. One of the problems with eliminating these organizations is the fact that they are comprised of individual cells that operate on their own. They don't need bin Laden or anyone else to tell them that it's time for revenge.

This is such bullshit. Sony never "blamed" Anonymous.. they merely stated that they found a file titled "Anonymous" with the contents "We are Legion". NO WHERE DID THEY SAY THEY BLAMED THEM. In fact they point out that they still don't know who did it. More likely the file was placed by the person(s) who did hack to the network to distract the people looking for them. Come on guys, at least read the shit you post.

  11. Compensation for what? on Playstation To Restore Services This Week · · Score: 1

Personally, I don't believe Sony has to compensate anyone. PSN is free, you pay for the console (which still works without PSN), you pay for the games (which still work [for the most part] without PSN). You are not required to connect your credit card to your PSN account. So far there has been no proof that any credit cards have been compromised, and it costs you nothing to replace them if you're truly that worried about it. If you're smart you don't use the same password for any of your online accounts, so the fact that they have your password should mean nothing to you. Once PSN goes back online everyone will forget about this and go back to playing their various video games. If you're really that upset about this, then leave. Sony already got your money for the console and games you bought. ps. I am not a Sony fanboy, I am not an Xbox fanboy, I play 90% of my games on PC and the other 10% split between xbox and ps3. I'm just tired of hearing these empty threats and over reactions.

  12. gov't isnt the problem, script kiddies are on iPhone Tracking Ruckus Ongoing · · Score: 1

You people that are defending this need to realize that the problem isn't when the government or other legal body requires data on you. As you've all mentioned cell phone towers have basically the same data available to them and they are easier to subpoena than using your phone. The problem comes when this file gets dumped on every computer that you plug your phone into. What happens when you sync your phone onto a computer that has been compromised by *pick your favorite mal-ware/trojan*. The person that compromised that computer can suddenly have access to that file and then they have all that information. And don't say that it doesn't matter because cell phone companies have that data, because their version of the data is encrypted and protected and not easily accessible. The un-encrypted data from your phone does not enjoy those protections. The big deal about this whole thing is the fact that the file is not encrypted and there can be any number of copies on any number of computers. If apple had simply encrypted this data, and/or left it on the phone (not have it sync to your computer) then this whole problem would have been much smaller.

It really depends on the stream, I've had some really good ones and some really shitty 3fps ones. For me, I don't mind the quality because I can piece the game together with the commentary, and considering they're games I wouldn't see other wise (and free) I can't really complain. For some higher profile games, ESPN3.com has tons of coverage, as long as your ISP is on their good side.

How can you expect an average citizen to stand up and fight Sony in court, even with donated funds, he has no where near the resources necessary to win that court battle. Sony would have simply lawyered him to death until he was in debt and ready to end his life. Stop complaining and slap yourself in the dick if you donated money to him.
