So these 17 intelligence agencies, from different countries and with different governing bodies, all got together and said 'uh-huh'. Where did they meet? Was it a common forum? Was Anonymous Coward there to verify everyone's credentials?
You people are directly involved in the manufacture of fake news here, you know. Can't you go pollute some other blog so we can continue to have interesting discussions here?
This thread could be snapshotted and used as an illustration for a textbook example of fake news fabrication.
And yet when the site began, people got along fine with the interface where you had to go out of your way to find out if a commenter had a low number or not.
The person who told me about this site back in 2000 was a Mac user, btw. Also a highly skilled programer who coded DSP chips in Assembly Language.
To the point about what sort of a site Slashdot has become, it's chock full of IT types now. The diametrical opposite of a nerd.
What we need is the equivalent of the Paris Accord that stuffs a cork in the 'Enviro-wackos'. Not to dismiss all safety concerns, but to arrive at a 'scientific consensus' about the risks of Nuclear Power. Then, when '98% of scientists' agree on a plan, carry forward.
There will always be cultists against any particular type of technology. They need to be simply ignored and their rantings widely debunked.
It was a great era for computing and anyone who used it knew it was going places... so it has come to pass, the mobile phone gives everybody on the planet access to all knowledge.
Sadly, the user interface is still very, very primitive.
People want a box full of ASICs that won't scale up in the megahertz war. With each chip named after a girl, and with a huge body of arcana necessary to learn in order to manipulate and use said girly ASICs.
Yes. Anything else is just a colorful wrapper around PC clone hardware.
I wince any time I have to access a logged account on a server with FTP. Isn't the password sent over the wire unencrypted? FTP has been replaced by SCP for a reason.
I live in a two person household, and we often enough are both streaming separate Netflix programs. We mostly stream to our Android tablets. (my wife's OLED Galaxy Tab S is just about the most color/contrast rich way there is to watch video content. I have a cheaper tablet)
The whole interface of the Android Netflix app is set up for multiple individuals using the account. We each have our separate icon and separate 'favorites' and records of what shows in a series we watch.
This won't ripple through the Apple hardware product line for a year or more. Just buy This Year's Model and deal with it. Your PC-using friends will be polite enough not to say much about it to you.
And I completely expect the likes of Asus, Gigabyte, ASRock, etc. to do this. Probably on their high-end/gamer boards only at first, but still.
Do high end gamer boards have sockets for AMD? I am pretty sure I had a motherboard with an AMD 8088 chip on it. It wasn't a gamer board. I think my PC Junior had an Intel chip.

They are sure making NFS look like a more attractive file sharing protocol than SMB these days.
(though I have seen some pretty shocking NFS exploits)
Milk is about $1.90 a gallon here in the flyover region.
How do prices for a gallon of milk in S.V. compare?

You are so virtuous, and the way you dole out curses is just awesome.
And guess what, we're all going to die. 'Science' hasn't fixed that yet and probably never will.

A Tape Recorder emulator made out of a Windows 10 laptop that you plug into your ZX Spectrum.
There may be an app for that in the Windows App Store.
I dunno. There certainly is a substantial body of erotic fanfic showing you to be wrong about that.

That's all just Stoot and his progeny. He petted a LOT of trees to attain his accomplishments. He works hard.
Maybe sitting at your dining room table in Chappaqua instead of in the Oral Office will be a good thing for you.
That surprised me, too. I never log onto Facebook so maybe I just missed it.
Or maybe I'm not missing anything. I think I'll go with that theory.

If I am wrong please correct me.
Please keep your sexual fantasies to yourself. We're not interested in hearing about them.

Who is grandstanding, Trump or the Chinese wind company?
(both)
It's very energy intensive right now.
I would rather Microsoft's only contact with Red Hat be through the Linux Kernel Developers who happen to work for Red Hat.

The Dukes of Hazard had more black actors than Seinfeld or Friends.
It's not a show based up in the segregated North.
The state law probably prohibits facial recognition. It certainly doesn't prevent it.
It's not a law of nature, like gravity. It's one of those more petty laws of man.
That's an octal IP datagram, correct??
