    Why do we need all these fucking gestures and shit? I guess most people still haven't figured out how to TYPE.

    Typing is an unnatural interface that we've just grown accustomed to. After a while, we've become quite good at typing, but it's still an interface that one has to actually learn to use.

    A more natural interface would be speech, but speech recognition is still far from the reliability of a keyboard.

    On a parallel path, the mouse, while much (MUCH) more natural than a keyboard, can still get better. As soon as 2D displays are really replaced by 3D, mice would have to become 3D also.

    The first problem was that 2D display (screen) and 2D gesture recognition (mouse) were easier than speech recognition. And now we are in a similar situation with 3D mice (this) and 3D screens (still crap).

    The beauty of it all it that they'll all eventually converge in the same spot. Thought input and though output.

    Anonymous is chaos. It's the true consequence of freedom. It's anarchy.

    Anonymous is weather and piratebay a butterfly in NY. The comments will have an impact but you won't know what particular impact until after the hurricane has already passed.

    You don't need fuel for the trip back. Just send astronauts with terminal illnesses and less than a year to live. I'm sure many (most?) would be willing to go die in Mars.

    an astronaut on Mars with a shovel can do more in 10 minutes than two robotic rovers can do in a year.

    Wow. NASA's budget really went to the crapper. Not so long ago, astronauts got entire suits.

    You forgot the part where you're forced into the two year agreement for Xbox Live, much like a cell phone contract. You can't have it your way.

    How is it 'forced' when you're accepting an agreement? Is there a guy with a gun making people pick this up?

    It's just irritating how many people just come to /. to be anti-MS jackoffs anymore. If you don't want it, don't sign up for it, assholes.

    It's forced in the situation described by the previous poster, thus making it invalid, as he further crarified with "you can't have it your way". (Think about the reason to put "in your way" in that sentence.)
