    What's with BitCoin? Why all the negative press? I've seen no named commenter put forth a rational argument as to why it won't work - that can stand up to logical scrutiny. All arguments so far have been handily shot down by subsequent responses. (You're welcome to try, though.)

    Are fucking kidding me? There are always numerous logical arguments that shoot down bitcoin. I guess for you, any argument against bitcoin cannot possibly be logical because that's the only explanation for your outrageous statement.

    Thriving market, my ass. A couple of hundred websites != a thriving market. Except for reddit, I can't think of a single website I use that accepts bitcoin. It's a side show and that's all there is to it. It will never be more than that.

    I'm with you. I hate the new compose interface. In fact, I'm considering dropping gmail over it. The only reason I haven't is that I'm not super impressed with the alternatives. Eventually my dislike for compose will override those reservations. I give it about three months.

    Money supply is largely irrelevant. What matters is inflation and there's very little of it. I could go into why that is but there's no point in arguing with conspiracy theorists. Nice try for another world conspiracy though. You clearly have no understanding how currency is valued.

    Milwaukee is very good and that's made in the US. Some of the DeWalt line is also made in the US. Black & Decker has always been complete shit.

    Do you have a source for this decade long onslaught that was initiated by Apple's PR folks? You also still don't get it...at all. The vast majority of the press is very against Apple these days. Also, just because you hate Apple doesn't mean others have to.

    Don't be a fucking retard. Companies sue other companies for patent infringement all of the time. Apple is hardly the inventor of the concept and at least they use the technologies that they sue over (unlike patent trolls).

    I dunno dude, all I hear over most of the internet is constant Apple bashing. This is from sites like this all the way to Wall Street. So this notion that there's some conspiracy by Apple to do all this PR sounds like complete bullshit. At a minimum, you would have to say they're completely incompetent at it because almost all the news I hear nowadays about Apple is completely negative. So, wanna try again?

    It's very up to date. I'm running Windows 8 (which installed without hassle of any kind) and, admittedly, it's been a good year since I last messed with linux (ubuntu) and yes the sound and wireless card wouldn't work out of the box. Sorry but it's nothing but a hassle. It always has been and I don't see that changing any time in the near future. I really, really wish I was wrong but I'm not. I'd love to never install Windows again but running linux is a job.

    Unfortunately I understand linux all too well. I'm a technical guy but I have zero desire to spend so much as five minutes getting my sound card and network card to work. Every other operating system can do this with ease and without be having to do a fucking thing other than hit the install button. With linux, everything is a chore. In short, linux is for people who have a lot of patience to put up with shit like that. I've got better things to do with my time.

    It takes over 200k jobs a month to keep parity (i.e., that's how many people are entering the workplace every month). Meaning, unemployment is increasing if you go below that. The reason the percent unemployed went down is that more people stopped even looking for work.

    I work with Indians all the time and have for over a decade (been in the business for over 20 years). One thing I can say for sure is that their competency varies just as much as any American's does. Very, very few are real super-stars, which is the same case with Americans. So this argument that they're the best and brightest in the world is severely lacking.

    That aside, if you live in my neck of the woods and you can't find a job then you're doing something wrong. I could have another gig in 48 hrs if I quit right now. Many cities have hot markets and are hiring as much as they can. Others...not so much. Also, some cities seem to favor certain skills so it's important to tune your efforts accordingly (or be willing to make a move to another town). Another thing...if you can't build web apps, you're probably going to be looking for a job for a very long time. Good candidates can do everything from top to bottom and are up to speed on frameworks/libraries that are in favor.

    I don't know where they get there data from but it's complete bullshit. A software developer making over $800k? Yeah, sure. I make far more than most developers and I'm not even in the same league as that. All of the salaries listed looked like pipe-dreams to me. I think they took real salaries and multiplied by 5.

    You're a retard. Chrome is the very definition of the OPPOSITE of stagnation. Google is very active in the development of Chrome and has been since their inception. You can thank them for spurring Mozilla and Microsoft to get off of their asses and make the web better.
