  1. adsense is making sense on Google's Bigger Index · · Score: 3, Interesting

    Google's adsense service https://www.google.com/adsense/overview

    is certainly a winner

The ads presented are similar to the paid ads shown on a standard google search but using the keywords of the page displayed and also tailored to the country of the viewer via their ip address.

In this way webmasters can maximize the global potential of their website.

We have some very highly ranked pages (i.e. top 10) but for UK only content. Now our visitors who find us via search engines and discover we aren't quite what they want are presented with a relevant exit strategy and we get a commission!

We're getting an average 1.7% click through rate which is translating into a nice tidy sum.

go google! keep kicking MSN's dirty butt

Beckham takes juicy Vodafone contract to Madrid
    June 18 2003
    by Tony Hallett

Vodafone has confirmed it doesn't expect to feel any direct fall out from David Beckham's 25m move from Manchester United to Spanish football giants Real Madrid.

A Vodafone statement said: "Vodafone has a two-year contract with David Beckham and it is independent of the [Manchester United] team. David Beckham's move to Real Madrid will not compromise Vodafone's position with the England captain or Manchester United."

Of course, having every title on warezed DVD helps.

XBox Live, though, is where it's at.

Project Gotham on XBox live is the best racing ever. Bar none. They have multiplayer *exactly* right.

I bought Need For Speed Underground on PC at the same time and it's online system was a disappointment. It's update system uses javascript and activex ffs and so first thing I had to do was piss about bringing my I.E. up to date on a box I don't use for web browsing (being a Mozilla user on FreeBSD and all).

The controllers are an abomination and getting a force feedback steering wheel has been a long long wait.

I hope Sony get the networking sorted out on the PS3 and the xbox2 is stillborn.

It is really irksome seeing ads for MSN while playing SSX Tricky or Links2004.

Compromised software on SF & Debian, if unnoticed, poses more threat than a leaked service pack 1.

Nothing was 'stolen' from either break in so the monetary damages are just the cost of repair.

Microsoft pulled out of OS/2 & pushed Windows thus shafting IBM.
