Ubuntu is almost ready for the GP (as you call them), but it just needs to improve its compatability with a few things, particularly certain wireless cards, *.docx etc., simplicity of installation (the average person cannot be expected to know how to burn a boot disk or to fix the boot order if it's wrong).
Why not combine that with head tracking so you don't have to put the camera in the right spot? Maybe you could give someone honorable mention in the Darwin Awards for thinking it was real (i.e. throwing a smoke at the monitor) or something (One woman with a sailboat once got honorable mention for failing to remove the trailer hitch before complaining to the coast guard that the boat was too slow, so it's not like you have to have a near death experience)
Children have much more plasticity than adults. Ergo, they can (and will) allocate entire brain areas to interface with the device. This is impossible in adults (or at least, impossible without an enormous amount of effort, and that only goes as far as operant conditioning. It won't permanently "set aside" a region of the brain).
Only if the computer's play is entirely deterministic. If it's probabilistic (think oddly angled room), patterns are pure statistical artifacts/anomalies depending on the type of pattern, and are completely useless for making predictions.
RTFA: He said "In the long run." Either you mean in the short run (i.e. a finite amount of time) or you think that the same bad hands will be dealt to the same player forever (technically impossible unless the dealer is cheating).
Since when do computers get "thrown off"? If you use miniMax and opponent chooses to play optimally, computer has anticipated this, in other scenarios (i.e. opponent plays suboptimally), it just recalculates.
There is no way in HELL RIAA would pay for this except maybe at Harvard/some other university whose students they are (unofficially) avoiding. Why PAY someone else to cut off your revenue stream?
Cognitive dissonance would make much more sense if you made them write an x page paper (for experimentally determined x in the range 2 ~ 8) just once and hand evaluated it (oh noes, we haz to do soemthngs by hands!!!1!!one!!!).

M$ may not have spoofed the "I'm a Mac" ads, but Novell did
It's Windows, not Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD/etc
Is UAC turned on (or are you as vulnerable as with XP where you're either root-analogue or not)?
On a related note, I often attempt to rate unfamiliar movies and TV shows by the Macs they feature. It's quite effective. :)
There, fixed it for you

>Now the only problem is, if we make quite cars louder for the blind, does that mean it's only fair to make cars brighter for the deaf?
No, that would be too consistent for any legislature to seriously consider.
It's not a big truck, it's... it's... it's a series of tubes!!!!1!!!1!!1!!!!!one!!!!
You *are* being sarcastic... right? (Please say yes!!!!!!!!1!!!one!!!)
Does anyone have a real answer that doesn't make their children sound like lazy wastes of space?[snip]

The problem is that you see it as a flat fee, and we see it as a multiplier.
Wow, eyes floating in mid-air... THAT's inconspicuous.
I wouldn't unless it had one of those little rubber hats to protect it from the elements.

I have a black belt, I workout out at the gym, and I am physically active. [snip]
There goes your geek card!

Is that at all related to positive feedback (i.e. the more money you have the easier it is to make money)?

I was hoping this wouldn't have to be said, but playing Poker isn't gambling if you play it properly. [snip]
Hmm... but there's more chance than in other games like e.g. chess.
Can you read? They already explained this! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_know_it_when_I_see_it
How do you electronically grade free response? It's going to be multiple choice or hand-graded (rationale for 8 times a month, perhaps?)
