Hi, this post is all about blades, REAL BLADES. This post is awesome. My name is Mikeage and I can't stop thinking about blades. These machines are cool; and by cool, I mean totally sweet.
Facts:
1. Blades are servers.
2. Blades fight ALL the time.
3. The purpose of the blade is to flip out and kill people.
Testimonial:
Blades can kill anyone they want! Blades cut off heads ALL the time and don't even think twice about it. These guys are so crazy and awesome that they flip out ALL the time. I heard that there was this blade who was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon the blade killed the whole town. My friend Mark said that he saw a blade totally uppercut some kid just because the kid opened a window.
And that's what I call REAL Ultimate Power!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No matter what, we should not change the name to make it shorter. Otherwise, purists will call it, "The chemical formerly known as Methionylalanylthreonyl...leucine". adding 31 more characters...
Since I don't read Russian and wouldn't know exactly where to look for up-the-minute Russian news, I can't really confirm this, but Kirill writes:
Since I saw a couple of features about Allofmp3 on Gizmodo, and used them myself a few times, I just wanted to update you on the Allofmp3.com legal voes - today, the DA for Moscow's South-West district, denied IPFI's request to open a criminal case against Allofmp3.com.
The DA's office determined that while Allofmp3's action are in fact theoretically illigal - they do not have the permission of all the artists they feature on the website to distribute their music - in the Russian copyright law there is no specific prohibition of digital distribution over the internet, thus the law couldn't be applied against them.
Basically the catch is in the definition of "distribution" under that law implies actual physical sale of pirated cassetes and disks, in case of downloads the DA office said that "Allofmp3 does not distribute copies of CD's, but creates conditions for its users to use the content themselves", and they don't have an article against that. I think its their online encoding feature that 'saved' them - with it, the user supposedly makes a copy of the song himself, and this is not something that was assumed under the anti-piracy law.
Eventually they will update the law I'm sure, but that will take a while (especially in Russia) so I figure we're ok to use Allofmp3 for a couple more years).

I was under the impression that packet8 did not allow people to connect with any SIP devices except for their DTA, to the point that they'd send out emails threatening to disable the service of people who do this.
If it's possible, then yes, I'd probably try converting the DTA-310 to an FXS.

Hi, I'm considering setting up Asterisk at home, however, the WAF (wife acceptance factor) is going to be very important here, so I'd like to make sure I know what I'm doing before I start. How hard is it to deploy an Asterisk@home with the following configuration: Two outgoing lines (one for local calls via local telecom, one for US calls via VoIP (packet8 -- using their DTA-310), and three local extensions (only one will be a "real" telephone. As I understand it, this means I need two FXOs, and one FXS. Can I use three separate cards for this, instead of buying a 2 or 4 port FXO, which seem to be more than 2* the cost of a single?
OGRE? Shouldn't it be OOGRE? Of course, this just begs for a successor: OOGLE (Object Oriented Graphics Leering Engine) - for modeling those CGI naked chicks
WRT-54G(S) running sveasoft's firmware. Yes, some people question the legality of the distribution method, but at $60 for the router + $20 for the firmware subscription, it's an instant solution. I'm running it on a 1.5Mbps/96Kbps to manage bittorrent, emule, packet8, counter-strike, and websurfing, and it runs great. More important -- it passes the wife test (aka, she doesn't notice that I'm downloading while she's talking).
USB device support is nearly flawless. I plugged in my brand new Epson Stylus R300 and just started printing.
This sounds like a bug. It's not supposed to print until you choose the "Print" option. If it's printed unsolicited material, you might want to check your configuration...

Yes, but I need a reader for those. Furthermore, not all devices support USB. As long as a device supports SD, it supports TF -- get a TF->SD adaptor (they're free with your TF card generally), and just think of it as SD, if you like...
I have a motorola with TF -- it came with a TF->SD adaptor. Given that I have that, and it emulates a standard SD drive, why is it less useful than SD? (Seeing as how it takes virtually no space on the phone for the connector, something that CF, and even SD can't claim).
All of those words in the list look perfectly cromulent to me.

Yes, but since transflash is compatible with SD, what's the problem?
