    The Westboro church goes to public places to express their beliefs. It doesn't matter if there's a funeral, it doesn't matter if their views are batshit-insane, it doesn't matter if they're doing it "just" for publicity, it doesn't matter if people find their views offensive. What does matter is that expressing beliefs in public spaces is a fundamental human right and their silencing is a blow against this precious right. FWIW: I don't think you can get a restraining order against protesters (pesky first amendment)

    Your comment on small businesses is totally wrong. Business expenses are deductible. It does not matter if the business is organized as a sole proprietorship, a partnership or a corporation.

    Actually in Canada the official opposition (Liberals) and our left-wing party (NDP) have come out in opposition to this bill. The inability for corporations to donate to federal political parties helps eliminate some of the more obvious forms of bribery. (All parties past a certain threshold are funded using tax dollars - there are also very low limits on individual contributions and no contributions at all from corporations/unions/etc)

    I certainly hope you are joking. Maybe in SanFran or New York City no one cares, but for the vast majority of americans it is very important. See: First TV appearance with McCain and Obama - hosted by a pastor, discussion on "faith" issues. That only 18% of americans would vote for an athiest for president (compared to 90+ percent for blacks and women). Hell, even being muslim polls above being an athiest. blah, blah, etc.

    Read up on "SoundExchange" All radio stations who play any music at all (in the US) are forced to turn over x cents/play to this organization. If an artist is registered with SoundExchange they get the money, if not, SoundExchange keeps it or gives it so some industry group.
