But some may say that the players, sat at their PCs are the personalities.
Having spectated at a few UK Lanparties, I can say that the 'players' are genuinely a mixed bunch and generally a very personable lot. (After all people can *hit* you if you misbehave on a lan).
The thing that makes major players so popular in many sports is marketing - in the UK we only have to look at David Beckham to know how true this is.
Having said that, Beckham is working for and living with a team in Spain.............go figure:/
Aside from the charges made against him for the perverted video he was watching (and not to belittle the charges) it would seem that there is a major point that he has been charged with "Theft of Communications".
This would suggest that all "Wardrivers" are at risk of being prosecuted for "Theft of Communications" regardless of what data they recieve over someone elses network.
"I will hunt down and castrate your employees unless you take me off your e:mail list".
Now can anyone tell me what on earth is so unreasonable about that?
But seriously. The fact that the Canadian company failed to take him off their e:mail list the first time he complained / threatened could surely be seen a provocation. (At least in terms of lessening the guys sentence)
If you read the small print for each product on the Ultimate Gifts page, it says that they take between 8 and 20 weeks for delivery.
But this is the "Ultimate Holiday Gifts page and anything you order from it (if you are that daft) will arrive several weeks after the Holiday season is over.
I suspect that these products are vastly expesive as they have been designed but never prototyped.
The idea is probably to get a certain ammount of orders placed before a design is actually built. Judging by the lack of Real Life(tm) photos as opposed to the CG ones, they aren't getting very many orders.
I mean - would you pay $99,995 so your kid could live in Dexter's bedroom??
In fact there are a plethora of companies and universities across the globe who already have advanced UAV helicopter designs so what on earth makes Steadicopter's design unique?
Yes, I know, someone is going to say it; nobody else has exactly the same design but thats not really the point.
Well its a dark future if this company has anything to do with it.
Having read through the article which reads as a press-release, the general gist of it is:
"We've got this great new technology, lets see who we can kill with it!"
Good grief, safety concerns over equipment after just three years!
Its not like back in my day (Mir era) - All they had to do back then to keep things ship-shape was to put a coin in the meter and remember to wind up the master computer every day.....
It is hard to respect a writer who equates Linux zealots, with people that seek nothing less than the complete failure of our modern society and who are willing to fight to death for it.
Yeah, it makes it sound like Linux zealots are on the Microsoft payroll;)
I was standing under RWY33 departure path at Birmingham International along with maybe a thousand others as we watched Concorde depart at 4:15.
The last thing on our minds was efficiency as she passed over our heads on re-heat, shaking us to the bone, plumes of dark smoke behind her four Rolls-Royce engines.
Concorde was Concorde because she inspired awe in people and the ability to set off a couple of hundred car alarms at 'MotorNation' in Mackadown Lane Garretts Green.:D
If any replacement were to be all efficient and waste-not want not with quiet(!) take-off and landing, it would simply be mundane.
Yesterday SCOX was running more or less straight and even (althought it did finish slightly down).
The markets open again in 10 minutes (ish) from the time of this post so It'll be interesting to see what happens today.
I predict that today the stock value will mirror yesterday, it may even end slightly up. This is because little or none of the news read here at/. and other such places is getting filtered through to wall street.
It would seem that Wall Street founds its trust on press releases rather than actual 'news'. (Nobody said trading was a safe game!)
It looks like SunnComm are making themselves out to be complete idiots.
The U.K.'s courts aren't much to write home about but if tried here, I could see this case being 'roared' out of court by an irate judge and SunnComm being charged with contempt of court for even bringing it.
Disappointingly perhaps, the only party who could really be forgiven for suing is BMG who have been sold false-assurances on a defective product!
The consumer will finally turn due to the pressure exerted on their wallets and say; enough is enough: You either give me a decent product for reasonable money or I will go elsewhere.
The consumer (in vast numbers) has the ultimate say over what manufacturers will do. - Any businessman will listen to their customers if they all shout the same thing.
But some may say that the players, sat at their PCs are the personalities.

Not to mention the reasearch into curing the Willow for our cricket bats to survive the martian atmosphere.
These people have no idea.............
I did factor in the labour under respray so work from there :)
As best I can find out in a hurry......
'71 Plymouth Roadrunner in A1 cond.
$13,500
Chrome rims + Bridgestones
$1,500
Professional Respray to Yellow
$1,500
State of the art CD changer and CDs
$400
Vinly Printed Graphics, several colours
$400
Total: $17,300
So how on earth are they justifying the asking price of nearly $70,000?? - Is that the cost of the IP licence on 'Birdman'??

Dodgy advertising methinks........

Considering the specification, this is one almighty rip-off.
I mean, the cost of parts, labour, marketing etc and even a hefty profit margin shouldn't have taken something like this over $10,000.
The really scary thing is tho....... there are people out there who will pay for this!
So Georgia Tech don't really have their own heli UAV's which can perform searches and formate in flight?
Have a look: HERE and especially HERE
Not to mention Berkeley who are it it too.
In fact there are a plethora of companies and universities across the globe who already have advanced UAV helicopter designs so what on earth makes Steadicopter's design unique?

In the UK we already have 2 effective systems for disabling road vehicles.
One is called Road Tax and the other is the 3.80/gal fuel price.

I've got a server tower next to me which dates back to 1993 with a giant PSU
;)
Rather like a re-heated Concorde takeoff....
I've long since binned my ear defenders as my tinnitis now drowns it out
Yeah, it makes it sound like Linux zealots are on the Microsoft payroll
Well, yes I am a Brit :)
I'd say that Texas mentality would have to be better than these namby-pamby European concepts which we have.
European namby-pambiness seems to be consideration for every factor at the expesense of ever getting anything done!

Compare the Chinese capsule system with an early Russian Soyuz A capsule.
The Chinese claim that their capsule was designed in-house. "It was all me own work guvnor!"
A mortar wouldn't use a tripod as it would be a bit unstable. You'd be more likely to find them with bipods.
