Can you think of any other area where "custom" equals cheap"?
My thinking is more "conservative". How error prone will this "custom" work bet? How expensive will this procedure be? How much individual effort will it require from highly expensive specialists that are in limited supply?
A generic solution allows for manufacturing and quality control. It also allows for cheap.
The current approach that doesn't require gene manipulation isn't terribly scalable.
They already have a procedure similar to this where they harvest and grow unmodified T-Cells. They extract them from vicinity of the tumor and then replicate them.
It's a little bit like cloning Osmosis Jones.
It looks like either approach is highly custom and not any sort of mass market thing.
I don't care if the post office is financially viable. It's rightful place is as a government service that exists DESPITE it's ability to be profitable.
Rome had tax collectors. I am sure there is a Canadian government agency to cover this sort of thing and I am sure that it's just as hated as any other set of tax collectors and for good reason.
People want to socialize everything else. Why worry about how much it costs? Socialize the damn post office and forget about "profit". Don't treat it like a business because it really isn't and never was. Like any other proper government service, it's something that private enterprise can't or won't do.

Postal service should be a basic government service. It's even in the US Constitution (versus the ATF or FBI or TSA). It's the communications method of last resort for locations that may otherwise be unreachable.

You don't need a plex server to play movies on mobile devices anymore. Most of the newer ones are quite capable on their own. All you really need is a mobile file server. There are already such devices on the market.

Battery life is not a separate issue if Apple forces you into a choice that cuts your battery life in half. They have just cut your battery life in half. That is VERY relevant.

Japan is a high compliance culture. It has never had a culture of liberty or democracy. It's the kind of place where very recently you could get summarily executed for not bowing low enough to a low ranking soldier.

My Xeon class botherboard does not. There are plenty of the higher end Intel consumer chips that don't have embedded video either.
